OT UK Guy Fawwkes Night and firworks/bangers

| It is Guy Fawkes Night here in UK, bangers are going off non stop and set to
worsen as the night goes on. All the dogs I know are frightened and
cowereing. It seems we have any occasion for fireworks nowadays and it has
been getting on my nerves too. My friend's cats are terrified also. We have
darkness here about 4.30 at the moment.

| same here, the cats hiding under one of the beds at the moment, getting
louder by the minute; I'm sure it never used to be this loud (or am I just
getting old and grumpy)

Someone on the radio today said some bangers now generate 120 dB, which
is the same as a jumbo jet taking off from the bottom of your garden.
