Author I'm hobbling back
Mermaid

Well I'm hobbling back and the wedding took its toll. I think I may be in a
genuine flair since 25 years of remission. I hope not but the signs
are there. My nose is tingling and red, dark circles and I'm exhausted.
Sleepy all of the time. I have gained a ton of stress weight for which I am
not too
happy about. The wedding pictures are going to look crappy of me.

My question: Do I exercise to get more energy or just rest? My house has not
recovered from a week of chaos before the wedding. Tempers flared and
irritability was rampant. Turmoil is not one of my favorite things. But its
over, she was beautiful and they are safe and sound back home. And I still
feel shell shocked. And this was the weekend of the 2nd. On top of
everything else it is still hectic at work. I am in sore need of a quiet
vacation. Not the one I had before the wedding. Ha Ha.

Anyway I am back. Will try to catch up.

Much love,
Paulette Ethyl Mermaid

Hi Ethyl!

Oh I am sorry to hear that you may be having a flare. Perhaps things will
calm down physically for you if you just take it easy and slowly work on
getting your routine back to the way it was before the wedding.

I have been in and out of flare states for close to three years now...
though I never have had a "true remission" from my lupus, even before it was
diagnosed.

In the midst of all this, I am determined to lose weight. I was 60 lbs
overweight and have lost 20 (yay!) and have 40 more to go. I really have to
gauge what I am up to. I have bought a stationary recumbent bicyle, and I
try to do 20-40 minutes on it daily. Today I have been pretty bad off. I
did not think I would be able to do the bike, but once I got on it, I was
okay for 20 minutes or so. Then, when I felt my joints start to ache, I
just stopped. This is the type of activity that has helped me to lose 20
lbs, so I just thought I would pass that on to you.

Hope you feel better soon!

Mair,
Congradulations on the loss of the first 20 lbs! Sure hope that you are
able to keep it up.

I really need to figure out a way in which I can 'shed' some of this xtra
weight I have managed to gain. Short of not eating!! I think I will see if
my hubby can rig me up a stationary bike with one of his old bikes that is
just hanging around.

Hugs,
Sherry

Welcome back!
When I excerise I always get really tired, and just want to sleep. Take
care. Melody

Thanks all for your welcome and concern.
I woke up this morning at 3:30 and could not go to sleep. I do that
frequently.
I think I'm going to start walking at lunch and I have a NordicTrack at
home.
The weather is really pretty right now with the leaves. Except skip the
leaves. Ha Ha

Does any of you take something to help you sleep? If I do I am a zombie in
the mornings.
Not good for the work ethic. Thought maybe walking would help me fall asleep
better.
I worry about too many things. Especially all the things I need to do at
work. Can't turn
my mind off.
Anyway, Thanks. I'll get through it.
