anyone have these symptoms from yohimbine ?
|

| Has anyone had these symtpoms from taking yohimbine suppliments?
1) runny nose (thin clear liquid)
2) testicles seem to shink up noticeably, and hug closer to your body
3) finger tips, and toe tips get colder and clamier
These symptoms only seem to happen for maybe 6 - 10 hours after taking
it.
Anyone gets these symptoms? the second one is quite annoying.

I've only tried yomhimbine a few times, and never had much
response to it at all. Nothing like your list of symptoms.
But I'm not sure I'm taking the right thing, or the right
amount. Mine is Yohimbine HCL, 5.4 mg. I don't see much
happening from one of those.
Are you taking the same thing?
How much do you take?
Other than the symptoms you list, what sexual effects does
it have?

Nope. This is a symptom of either a drop in BP or obstruction of the
arteries leading to the fingers and toes (see Raynaud's (sp?)
syndrome).

Yikes. Yohimbine (YOH) has a half-life of less than an hour. Its
metabolite which IS biologically active lasts perhaps another three
hours. If you're getting side effects 6-10 hours later it's not from
the YOH.

Some people don't respond at all to YOH. There's a guess floating
around that it only works (has any effect on?) about 30% of males.
Normal reaction should be:
- increase in BP. You feel yourself flushing.
- loss of heat control. You go hot (sweat like a pig) then cold
(shivering, can't get warm) and alternate for about ten minutes.
- anxiety. If the dose is too high, panic attack.
- insomnia
All these are dose related. For me they start mildly at 2.7mg, 5.4mg
would make me so wired I couldn't sleep for a few hours. Over 5.4mg --
I wouldn't like to even think of the horrors of > 5.4mg.

I'd like to know that too.

| The stuff is called "Male Fuel", and it is made by Twin Labs Inc.
Here is a link to the stuff:

There are a lot of other ingredients in it...
Maybe it's the other ingredients that are causing the effects I
describe.

Very likely. Further I have no idea how the 400mg of Yohimbe Bark
Extract allegedly in each "serving" relates to the pharmaceutical
grade Yohimbine HCL both Peabody and myself are using. 400mg of
Yohimbine HCL would be about 75 tablets!
If you want to try Yohimbine get the real thing from the Pharmacy via
a prescription. Oh yeah, and the real thing costs $13.00 per hundred
from Costco. I have 100 on order.
Further, don't you feel that there's something wrong with any product
(and producer) that's called "Male Fuel"?

I had mis-remembered the dose my yohimbine comes in. They
are in fact 2.5mg caps from 1FAST400. But it's just an OTC
supplement, not prescription at all.
Yesterday, I tried taking 3 caps over a period of about two
hours, and noticed nothing unusual. Well, maybe my
yohimbine is fake. But it very clearly says Yohimbine HCL -
2.5mg.
What sexual effects do you get from it? Starting how soon?
How long do they last?

There's a post from about a year ago, I think, in which I answered
this question but despite that I keep all my posts for posterity <g>,
I'm dammed if I can find it. In the thread there's also a post by
Wanderer (IIRC) who went on about his experience as a 20-something
taking YOH and giving his girl such a workout that she was walking
bowlegged for the next week. Something like that. Maybe he can recall
the thread.
Anyway I take 2.7mg (half a tablet) about a half-hour before sex (food
and all that indifferent). I get a mild dose of the bad side effects
mainly the heat control problems and then after sex and for the next
three or so hours I feel a little wired. Both the bad and good effects
vary depending on the day of the week, whether it's raining,...
really, they do vary but I have no idea why.
By the time I'm ready to go the heat problem is no longer an issue. I
can't ejaculate at all without YOH so that's the first advantage.
Second and the reason I started with it is that it potentiates Viagra
or Cilais (and probably Levitra). For me 50mg Viagra + 2.7mg YOH has
the same effect as 100mg Viagra in terms of erection firmness. If you
do the math, even using All Day Chemist's Manly, it cuts the cost
considerably. The doubling might not be exact--it might be equivalent
to 75mg or 80mg--but it's in the ballpark.
However, the best effect is that YOH causes the whole experience from
erection to ejaculation to be much more pleasurable. It's difficult to
describe--a sort of tingling sensation in the groin, and a feeling of
whole body pleasure both during the sex and at ejaculation. It
probably has something to do with the blockage of the A-1 receptors
(YOH blocks the A-2 receptors but allegedly has some bleed-over effect
on the A-1's). I think this because for a while a few weeks ago I was
taking Uroxatral, an A-1 blocker, and it had some of the same tingling
feelings. The feeling is actually so good that I worry that it may
contribute to the delay in ejaculation I suffer from.
Many say that YOH reduces the refractory period considerably and
there's support for this in a series of papers from Japanese
researchers around 1990. They were using dogs. There have also been
anecdotal accounts here but it doesn't have this benefit for me.
BTW, your 2.5mg caps should not only say "HCL" (Hydrochloride) they
should also say "USP". (United States Pharmacopoeia -- like a UL
listing for drugs.)
