Has anyone had a good result from any of the many non prescription drugs
advertised on US radio? Encore is the only name I can think of at the
moment.

Read the part in Jerry's weekly FAQ about "snake oil".

Most of the Herbals are non-prescription. Your own doc or Uro is still
the best authority -- more knowledgeable that the sweet young thing at
the local GNU shoppe. My own doc tracks trials of herbals in Europe and
Asia -- my HMO really likes some of this stuff since it reduces their costs.

While sitting in my doc's office this morning I noticed a copy of the
PDR - Herbal Medicines and asked his opinion of it. Response,
"excellent resource -- long time coming."

Don't forget Yohimbine comes in a OTC form and can be very effective if
used correctly.
Problem with it is, it has to be combined or used with an organic acid.
Citrus fruit juice will usually work and/or Vitamin C
