Prescribing Information for Caverject UK only

| Hi all
Can some kid soul tell me what the precribing rules are for Caverject.
In other words how many willl the doctor give per month/week etc.
Are there any guide lines laid down by the health trust limiting the amount.

Can't help you with UK guidelines, but my suspicion is that they are
going to be similar to those in the US which are wildly variable as to
injectible drug frequency. I've read everything to a couple or a few
times a month to every day. My previous urologist prescribed every
other day, max. My current one tells me I can use Tri-mix every day,
if I want, so long as I follow the rules about dosing and safe
injecting practices.
Consider Tri-mix over Caverject, btw. Much less penile ache in the
long run and far more flexibility as to your choices in dosing.

IIRC this was addressed in a post within the last 90 days. Seems to me
that the discussion mentioned that one specific diagnosis permitted the
NHS to cover Caverject to some finite number each month. Another
diagnosis would not enable NHS to cover Caverject.
Find a newsreader that will do text searches, rather than subject to
topic searches. IBM's NR/2 for Aurora had such a capability. I'd suggest
a search on Caverject and UK or Caverject and NHS.

Did a Google search on this -- found an older post where Caverject was
covered based on the date the diagnosis was made. (It's based on the
arrival of Viagra on the U.K. market--circa 1998). I don't understand
this but I don't understand much of what my own HMO does on prescription
meds either.
