Author Testosterone levels in older men?

Hi-

I know this has been discussed previously, but I don't remember now
that I need this info.

What is a reasonable range for testosterone for a man in his 60s who
wants to maintain an active sex life? Not the minimum "for an older
man"- as many doctors will deem adequate- but a truly functional level?

Thanks=

Popular consensus is ~600 ng/Dl if estrogens and prolactin are in check.

I think that's the key for many; keep the estrogens & prolactin in
check.
Easier said than done. I've found using liquid Arimidex does a pretty
good job on the estogens and bromocriptine on the prolactin. I'm
trying to get the dostinex but will likely have to use Josh to get it.

I'm currently finishing up my last 3 or 4 weeks of my second round on
HCG and using the liquid Arimidex and bromocriptine as well as 25
mg/day of Proviron and things seem to be going very well.

Are you really aromatazing that much on HCG? I did HMG for 6 mos., then HCG
for 6 mos., and that was after 1 1/2 years on Androgel. The Androgel was a
nightmare, but the HMG/HCG didn't do a lot for me, finding that I was a
primary hypogonadnal rather than a secondary.

Yeah, the arimidex is serious anti-estrogen stuff. What's your labs looking
like, if I can ask?

Labs? I can't afford no steenking labs.
I don't feel like I'm aromatizing much if any, thanks to the
anastrozole and proviron I'm using along with the HCG. Last year when
I was using the HCG and didn't have all the knowledge I have now I was
seriously aromatizing and it did have ED results.
(T was 1526 and E was 107); I can't get any MD's to supervise me so I
have to go it alone. I'll be having saliva tests as soon as I finish
the HCG in a couple weeks. Didn't see any reason to have them now as
long as I'm having satisfactory results. I'm using the low dose
protocol with the hcg. (500i.u 3 times a week) and use the
proviron/mesterolon every night at 25 mg. On Tues and Thurs night I
use about 1/2 mg of arimidex and a full mg on Sunday night. So I'm
being carefull not to use too much anti-E. It all seems to be flowing
pretty well for now. I used a little HMG last year but it's so
expensive. I might try it again later next year.
