Author Shelf life of TRIMIX?

I just got Formula 5 (30/1/10) from Francks Pharmacy in Florida, and the
label on the vial says: "Keep refrigerated. Discard after three months."
I thought that freshly mixed Trimix would retain its potency longer than
that. Could it be that the Trimix they mail out was mixed some time ago
(even weeks), hence the recommendation to discard it after only three
months?

Latest from my pharmacist says, keep frozen and that's printed on the
vial label. She says latest research shows very significant increase in
keeping quality. Further, below zero is superior to just 25 deg. I'm
using the same ratio as you but it's 20% diluted with saline.

My vial is only 4cc so I'll probably use it before I reach 3 months.

Thaw, load some syringes -- put those in the refrigerator and re-freeze
the vial. ...Lmac

Most Trimix is dated between three and six months for legal reasons.

It will keep much longer, if you keep it just above freezing.

Most pharmacies, including both where I have purchased Trimix, warn
against freezing the solution, although you will find that some people
freeze it.

There are clearly two schools of thought on freezing.

I keep in refrigerator near vegetables, and find no loss in efficiency for
thr time I take to use it all, 15 months. Certainly wouldnt discard.
