| I am 52 years old and 2 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
I started hormone therapy (injections of Lupron). This affected my body's
ability to produce testosterone for well over 8 months. Shortly thereafter I
also underwent radiation treatment which affected my ability to sustain an
erection. My doctor prescribed Viagra, but I could not deal with the many
side affects (runny nose, headaches, dizziness, etc...).

as a prostate cancer survivor and having done in depth studies about
erectile function after pca, i would say that this claim is 100%
hogwash.
i will not address the surgery side of what prostate cancer and post
surgery erectile problems, but focus on what this claim above is.
before i address this claim, i will tell of some of my expertise. i
spent 22 years in the military and one of the areas i was an expert in
was radiation poisoning and safety.
so, back to the claim.
when ANYBODY gets radiation damage, it usually doesn't happen right
away. take a simple case of sunburn. do you know you are sunburned at
the time it's happening, or is later in the day or night? and what
about the effects of radiation? here's a simple example that anyone
reading this post can do. look at the back of your hand. it is
exposed to the daily sunlight and is not protected. now, take and
pinch together some of the skin between your thumb and finger and hold
it for about 5 seconds. now release. do you see how the skin is real
slow in responding to bouncing back to it's original shape? this is
because of the repeated years of low level radiation from the sun - pure
and simple.
now, take an area on your body where it doesn't get sunlight. or as
much. try this same technique that i described on your forearm, upper
arm chest, stomach, leg. and see the difference.
what you are witnessing is evidence that hasn't been played with. it's
your body and your skin is the largest organ you have.
ok - now that you have seen what i'm talking about. when you get
radiated for prostate cancer, it floods the cancer with radiation and
kills it. but you also have collateral damage. you will have colon
damage because it is so close to the prostate and rectal bleeding 9
months to one year later is not out of normal. as well as a swollen
prostate from being radiated. but keeping this thread on the main
claim........
one of the damages that will happen is the erectile nerves sitting next
to the prostate. now, assuming that the person had no problems with
erections at the time the radiation treatment took place, over the next
two years, the effects of the radiation damage would show up as the
erectile nerves show signs of damage. this is why men will probably
need some kind of ED drugs after radiation.
but this ad, says that their stuff is better than ED drugs and making
all kinds of outrageous claims.
my question to them - if their product is so great and so fantastic,
then why doesn't the medical community beat a path to their door? why
do they post a thread at a newsgroup?
hope this helps clear the air.....

knowledge is power - growing old is mandatory - growing wise is optional =
"Many more men die with prostate cancer than of it. Growing old is
invariably fatal. Prostate cancer is only sometimes so."
