Jerry,
Although you might be pissed at an individual, your spamming other
newsgroups with megabytes of garbage is the most rude, obnoxious, and
anti-netiquette action one might take.
Manners aren't so much as calling out an XXXXXXX, XXXXXXX, as it is
using other peoples bandwidth to play Mr.. moral computer user.
You got a problem with someone? Try sending an abuse report, don't be
an XXXXXXX and throw tons of bullshit on my server! HDD space costs
money, jerk!

I disagree. There are very few options for those who manage a site
like this to control garbage posts, and garbage posters. Jerry chose
one of the few.

A lot of us here come for useful information for a problem which we
consider life-altering and highly anxiety-provoking. When trolls move
in and find those concerns a joke, we react in the best ways we can.

If you have a better way of handling this troll problem, I like to see
you map it out.

If you think repetitive robo posts to an unmoderated newsgroup do anything other
than raise the level of junk that everyone needs to deal with, I'd like to know
more...

Well, if your reaction is any indication of how you solve problems it's
easy to see why you'll still impotent.

The Troll is the person posting 100"s of repetitive 1/2 megs on other
people's servers. Not the person who cross posts 1K to relevant
groups.

You can't argue with the irrational or insane because they either just
don't get it or are such Egomaniacs that they think only they have
something to say. They don't have the mental capacity to understand the
difference between a 1K post and 100's of 1/2 meg repetitive posts.

To the ignorant among you:

It's apparent the rude, sick, lame and lazy have no idea how to use their
computers or the systems they attach to. Pounding away on their keyboards
with their lack of understanding of what cross posting is and what it does
goes to the heart of their ignorance.

It can only be their stupidity that creates this misplaced ego (while,
ironically, intentionally remaining anonymous. Go figure), and makes them
believe all those people in all those cross-posted groups are just dieing to
read their words.

The people prove their ignorance and rudeness on a daily basis:

To locations they've hid? (Try learning more about the very system you're
using, "Jerk"). Why don't YOU try replying to them?

(At least somebody is looking for an education). Jim and I have been on this
site for over 10-years. Occasionally the computer illiterate get sucked into
cross posting by not know how their system works and replying to posts some
other jerk has added cross-posted addresses. Obviously the neophytes don't
understand the very REASON for different groups is different interests. Yet
these fools continue to be duped by the original cross poster. (Like how
stupid would you have to be to cross post a Circumcisions post to "Las Vegas
Vacations?) But, in their ignorance, they do it.

But you wanted to "know more." Over the last decade, new users like you get
sucked into cross posting. By massive posting of information and
instructions into the other cross posted areas we get the attention of the
new users and they often see the error of their ways and stop cross posting.
(Just received an email from one saying they will remove
alt.support.impotence). There are always the illiterate 5% that actually
believe their words are so important, they continue cross posting. This
included the Kid Trollers that do the intentionally cross posting; knowing
the neophyte will unknowingly emulate. You people are easily lead by these
kids:

That sort of juvenile thinking. (How is it these people hold such sway over
you?)

-----------------

It's real simple (for the simple minded). Learn your system and stop cross
posting.

See? Easy, huh?

Sorry - you must have me confused with someone else. I've been using Usenet
since the late 70s, managed more than my share of Usenet servers, created more
than one mainstream newsgroup, and know how Usenet works down to the protocol
level.

Its generally considered rude to post FAQ type information more than once a
month - a standard you seem to follow for your other postings in this group.
However, since this is an unmoderated group, you are free to do as you like.

While you may have found one person who will remove an extranious newsgroup from
one topic, you also manage to annoy all the regular people who follow the
newsgroup every day.

I'd rather not killfile you as you do post useful and interesting posts, but
daily roboposts don't help.

You need to be more careful with your attributions. I did not post that...

It's the plural 'you.'

Having made a few bucks myself since day one, we'll skip the pissing
contest.

Again, not addressing individuals, the 'you' was plural.
