Numbness on my frenulum area
|

| This has been a problem for me.
The area of my penis that used to be the most sensitive is now the least
sensitive. When I was with my ex-girlfriend I often had problems attaining
orgasm.
I had an STD test, and I'm clean. I've never had any trauma to my penis
(although I was cicumsized at birth, if that matters).
I've been searching Google and I've found that my nerve endings might have
been damaged, causing the numbness.
Is there anything I can do to restore some sensitivity to them? Like a
cream or a supplement (I've read that L-Arginine can do this)? Or any other
advice would be appreciated.
I can't go to a doctor at the moment because I don't have insurance.
This isn't a life or death thing, but I'd like to do what I can.
Thanks.

| Not to be harsh, but... if you were circumcized, I'd say you had a
pretty significant trauma to your penis.
If you even had any sensitivity in your frenulum, you're lucky - in
most modern circumcisions it's shorn right off. Kind of evil, doncha
think?
Many cut men complain of rapidly declining sensitivity in their penis.
My suggestion: if you have a boy, don't have him cut.

Are you using a lubricant? You might try changing and see if that helps.

| If you were circumcised as an infant and your frenulum was sensitive
during puberty and early adulthood, then having been circumcised in the
first place is not the issue.
I assume you masturbate - nearly all of us do. Is it possible that the
way you masturbate might have irritated the area? If so, be patient.
The feeling will come back.

I'm not quite understanding your post. Did your search on Google reveal any
possible causes for damage to your nerve endings? Or do you have any reason
to suspect nerve damage? For instance, did you have your penis pierced or
anything like that? Do you engage in very intense or forceful masturbatory
activities?

| Um .. I'm not so sure about that ... the skin of the glans on a
circumcised penis usually thickens as time goes by. It certainly did
with me and I lost a lot of sensitivity.
I now use a device I found on the net called the Your-Skin Restoration
Cone available from http://www.tlctugger.com/prodRC.htm which I wear
during the day at work or when I go to bed at night and I am amazed by
how much sensitivity has been restored. My sex life has greatly
improved and I do sometimes find that I have less difficulty in getting
an erection if I haven't taken any V or C ...
(p.s. this isn't a post on the pros and cons of circumcision - just my
experience with the Your-Skin Restoration Cone)

A little skin lotion applied after you shower has
similar effect, after about a week of daily applications,
the area is more sensitive. Less embarrassing too if
you have to be rushed to the emergency room.
