Author Patch Misgivings?

I'm a 67 year old survivor of non-Hochkins lymphoma. After 6 cycles of very
strong chemo (CHOP+R) that drove my cancer into a durable remission, I
discovered that I was impotent. I also noticed that the acne that I had on
my shoulder blades since I was a teenager cleared up. I had lost my hair
but when it grew back it was thicker then it has been for years. I thought
to myself, "this is the way I was prior to puberty, thick hair, limp dick,
clear skin. I asked my oncologist to check my testosterone level. He did
and reported that it is normal. I asked to see the print-out and pointed
out to the doctor that this is the very bottom of the "normal" range! The
doctor said, "You are 66 years old. That could be normal for a man your
age. I fixed your cancer. I can't fix everything that is wrong with you."
He suggested that I make an appointment with an endocrinologist if I want to
pursue this issue. Later I discovered I had a kidney stone and asked my
urologist for the patch. We had another testosterone blood test with the
same results and similar conversation. Why do you kids think that you are
the only ones entitled to have sex? The urologist finally agreed to put me
on the patch. (Androderm 5MG/24 hour) The patch rocked my world! After
just three days on the patch my feelings of depression and lethargy lifted.
I climbed on my roof and used a chain saw to trim down a tree that was
growing into my house. For months prior to that I was so low in energy that
I could seem to start anything. I have been on the patch for over three
months now. I'm happy and able work and take six mile hikes just for fun.
Oh yes, I have a new girl friend who is my age. We have sex almost every
day. I get very firm erections. I some times use Viagra but not always.
It's a great confidence builder.

The only down side to the patch is the red itchy spots on my body and the
need to shave my very hairy body to find smooth skin to which to apply the
patches. The pimples on my back have returned. I celebrate them! Welcome
back old friends.

I had read on the Internet that the patch can cause your gonads to shrink.
I was looking forward to that because I have had very big balls all of my
adult life. I was looking forward to some reduction in size. That has not
happened yet. When I look at male porn star equipment, I might be impressed
with the size of their dicks but most seem to have very small balls relative
to my own.

I recall reading that there is some hormone that you can take that prompts
ones own gonads into producing more testosterone. Does anyone know the name
of that drug?

My testosterone is now in the middle range of normal. I'm in the process of
making an appointment with an endocrinologist at John Hopkins to make sure
that what I'm doing is safe. It seems too good to be true.

This is my first posting. I thank you for an information you can provide
and for the candid and informative posting of those that have contributed.

Debar, congrats on your success story, your patch seems to work very
well for you. I am 57 and had a similar reaction to an increase in
testosterone, which I badly needed, however I didn't use a patch, I
used YTE. I now have a fan site, you might want to check it out:
www.ytepower.com YTE is a natural patented supplement created from
fertilized hens eggs that can dramatically increase testosterone
levels, increase energy, increase mood, and reduce stress by reducing
production of cortisol. Best of luck, and congrats again on your
success.
