| In my fifties I exercise vigorously (for me anyway) 3/4 times a week,
using weights on at least one of those occasions. I noticed in an earlier
thread someone had said that heavy exercise and lack of sleep were "erection
killers"
Just how harmful is heavy exercise to potency? and are there
lasting adverse effects. I must say it's something I would be loathe to give
up as I find it helpful in other ways, in that it helps relieve tension,
lifts my mood (at least temporarily) and gives me a degree of confidence.
I really dont think that a session of light exercise would have
the same effect.
Any comments appreciated. Thanks.

Micro-seconds after I posted those statements, I wished I'd used clearer
wording.
Exercise is very helpful in erection problems. In fact, I do as many
squats as can, without it becoming painful, before getting in the shower
each morning. Exercise is good, but overdoing exercise is the problem.
Where that transition point is, will vary with each individual.
Impotence is a very common problem with bodybuilders. Also, many
bodybuilding "medications" can cause impotence.

I believe the exercise phenomenon is short lived. Exercise causes adrenalin
and adrenalin is a vasoconstrictor. And constricting your veins is the
opposite of what you want for erections.
You might try exercise in the morning, then try your sex in the evening.
