| I have been using PGE injectables for 15 years. My problem is not
erections; at age 63 my libido has slowed and I have trouble coming. That's
my problem.
My testosterone is low but not below 'normal' range so doctor will not
prescribe.
What to do that is effective and safe?
I have been taking carnitine and tribulus supplments and THESE SEEM TO
WORK.
Any other experinces? Any confirmation?

Funny you should mention libido, Once my ED problem was rectified, I became
fascinated with the surging libido one day, and lack of it the next.
I have really been thinking about posting my ramblings on my observations in
the group, I just haven't had time to sit and jabber.
In short, I have found that there's definately two hormone things that
affect my libido, and that's testosterone and estrogen.
When I initially got on the shots, I was running "low normal" and I went to
upper 1/3 of range. That made a big difference in my libido. It would fade
not long after the 48-72 hour peak, so I started doing estrogen control by
taking DIM.
Coordinating it with the blood tests for T/E levels, I found that if I took
too much DIM, and my E's got *too* low, I had no desire. If my E's went too
high, it also faded.
Complicated? This is just the tip of the iceberg.
Through much tweaking, I can pretty much stay in the ball park. That is,
that range, and it's fairly wide, where the libido is humming.
If I get to penning my discertation soon, I'll add the non-hormonal things.
And hey, Doc Atomic, why the hell would your Dr. not let you raise your T
level at 63? If you were 21, would he want to lower it?
Low T has great implications including but not limited to Osteoporosis,
muscle maintainence, and mental well being.
We've all had false starts here.

| Hi,
Testosterone therapy frequently causes conversion of T to E2 and the best of
the therapies are no better than the old standby hormone pellets that have
been around since the 50's.
Pharmaceutical houses don't hormone pellets advantages to well known. The
crystals of hormone dissolve constantly for 4 months and provide enough
hormone at 12.5mg day giving you back your high normal level of 800-1000.
Trouble is there are so few pellet doctors like Dr. Gambrell of Augusta GA
that has been treating men for andropause for decades.
His web site is:
http://www.members.aol.com/gambr999/
TRT does not cure ED but provides vital hormone to the bodies vital organs
including the brain and your interest in sex. It doesn't cause erections but
may make them easier when you interest is higher.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. 63; 406 T level. Docs won't give HCG
and I don't have enough T to perform well even though I have a lot of
desire.
What to do. So, I got tired and sick of begging them for a HCG prescription
and wasting money going to them. A few years ago here, there was info about
how to proceed with HCG therapy. So, I finally found a source of HCG and
Clomid and should have everything in order by next week to start.
Here's hoping it works.
Any words of wisdom from anyone who has tried this before?

I was on HMG for 6 mos and then HCG for 6 mos, John. It didn't work for me,
but you're higher in your T level than I was when I started, so your HPT
axis is probably still workable.
Decide how many iu's your gonna start with, if it's the powder mix then draw
your bacteriostatic water, shoot it in the powder vial, mix, draw it, change
needles, and using a 1/2" or 5/8" 30 gauge needle, inject 1 1/2" outside
the umbillicus. No need to aspirate.
If it's the stuff in the vial, break the vial top, draw, squeeze out air,
and inject.
Are you starting at 2 x a week or 3?
As soon as possible after the first full week, get a test so you know how to
adjust, up or down.

| Have you considered a prescription grade pump such as the Osbon Ereacid
Esteem Battery Model? It is a fail safe method without using chemicals.

Why the umbillicus?

3, I imagine. Figured I'd follow the regular protocol.

I've got some DIM also. I also regularly take 5 mg of Bromocriptine at
night.
Have enough of that to last for a while.

Because that has the best fat layer and is easiest to get plus less nerves.
That's 1 1/2 inches *away* from the umbillicus. Don't stick needles *in* the
umbillicus. That's only for interrogation during wartime ;)

People here have found, including myself, if you get your E's too low
through DIM or whatever, you start feeling like crap again. Every time I get
T test, I get my E2 tested also to keep in the ballpark.
Good luck.

| I am one of those who has tried everything. I just ordered a new pump
as the Osbon has become to big and clumsy for me. The new one from
another company is much smaller and claims to be better. I cannot tell
you if it is better or not as they are taking their time sending it or
something is wrong at the Post Office. I do agree that the pump is the
best, if NOTHING else works.
I was wondering recently about libido. I THINK about sex all day it
seems, watch porn, read sexy mags, try my friendly hand and nothing
seems to give me that old feeling, much less an erection. Why is that?
I think I understand the bit about blood pressure and blood has to flow
into the penis to get an erection. This is what all the drugs,
injections, and pumps are supposed to do, but what happened to my
brain? Why don't one-time sexual stimulents trigger, at least, a strong
feeling and desire for sex (AKA Horniness)????
There must be some part of the brain that, for some men and women,
interprets a sexy porn scene, for example, as a sexual stimulent, and
then sends signals someplace to start off the erection. I noticed that,
even with using a pump, and having sex with a beautiful woman that the
old feelings were hardly available making it impossible to have an
orgasm. This lack of sex drive even hurts me in looking around for a
desirable mate because I lack interest.
My ED started around age 50 and has lasted until now (age 70). A
radical prostectomy seemed to put the final seal on erections, but not
on thinking about and wanting to have plenty of sex. However, that is
more like wanting to go to the movies now, then what used to be such a
drive that had to be satisfied in one way or another. Now I can think
about sex, want it, and still go for a year without it.
I know my testosterone level is low, but cannot remedy that because
there are still indications (PSA 3) that cancer cells are lurking
somewhere.
Lately I have also been feeling like I have the flu or something. That
is what originally tipped off my doctor that I had low levers of
Testosterone. I was put on replacement therapy until the prostate
cancer showed up and then had to drop it. The testosterone replacement
helped some in the libido, but not too much, although I was better than
I am now.
Any information will be helpful and appreciated.
