Blood Pressure Med seem to help my ED
|
|
|
| I started taking lisinopril for high blood pressure about 2 weeks ago
and I am not really sure about this but it seems to have helped my ED
some. Nothing like taking Cialis or Viagra though. The blood pressure
medice while not competley correcting the problem seems to help.
Has anyone else noticed this? The lisinopril Im taking is an ACE
inhibitor and works by enlarging blood vessels.
My doctor told me high blood pressure can contribute to ED, Ive never
heard this before. It doesnt make sense to me since blood in your
penise is what gives you an erection, seems like higher pressure would
mean harder erection.... I guess we arent made like a garden hose
though.

| I also took lisinopril (I had been taking atenolo); not only did I
develop a dry cough, a common enough side effect) but my ED was
exacerbated by the replacement BP medication. Although my doctor
explained that there were additional benefits from lisinopril I
requested a return to atenolo which does modify my BP, eradicated the
dry cought and a less drastic effect on my ED.
