Impotence caused by priapism
|
|
|
| I have some questions
Is it possible to cause priapism due to prolonged sexual activity /
masturbation? for example sex for hours at a time.
If impotence is caused by priapism what are the symptoms?
* cannot get an erection at all
* can get an erection but cannot maintain it
thanks

| It doesn't work the way you propose it. If you are lucky enough to be able
to have sex or masturbate for hours, keeping an erection thoughout without
any use of vasodilator drugs, that is not an event of priapism.
If however you manage to overdose yourself with one of the vasodilators or
have one of several blood diseases which make you susceptible to very
prolonged erections, that would be priapism. Otherwise, no drugs and no
disease, and as you describe it, your body has a pretty dependable and
harmless way of telling you you've had enough - you just lose the erection
and don't get another until your body is ready for that to happen again.

| So it isn't possible to damage your penis by keeping an erection for hours
through prolonged sexual stimulation (without vasodilator drugs) ?
With a normal erection does the blood still flow in & out of the penis? or
does it still become trapped inside causing it to go stale.
Thanks for your help.

If you dick is still warm you can be assured blood is still flowing. I've
had a chemically induced erection for over 7-hours and no damage. (But it
hurt).

| With a normal erection, newly-oxygenated blood moves in and de-oxygenated
blood moves out. You are just not aware of the process because bloodflow
does not require that the penis inflate and deflate while it happens.
I think a lot of this has to do with attention span. If you can remain
focused, no vaso-dilator drugs, for 3 hours, keeping a hard-on, go for it.
But if doing that saps you for future erections, maybe re-think the process.
