| I noticed a post here sometime ago about people receiving testosterone
injections discovering that they had high estrogen through the use of an E2
test? I asked my doc and he said they tested by prolactin and it was normal
for me to find out more for him. Can anybody help? My abilities to perform
and desire fluxuate from none to almost. The desire is there byt the
ability gets lost along the way. I just searching. Also if I take a Cialis
I have great nocturnals but I am worried that they might be lasting too long
as I always am errect to some degree when I awaken. Is there cause for
concern? Thanks for any help.

The erection on waking is called "nocturnal erections" or something like
NPT's. It is natures way of cleaning out the pipes while you're not using
them. It is not only no reason for concern, it's very desrable. There's
reason for concern when you *don't* have them.
Excess E2 can cause the testosterone receptors to shut down. Bringing it
back under control took me about 6 months. I was on androgel for 1 1/2
years. and I produced E2 like it was going out of style. Long story short, I
eventually started injecting on a weekly basis, and was able to keep the
estrogens very nicely in check with just daily doses of Dim. After about 6
months of injecting, I was very surprised at my progress and responsiveness.
You gotta get the E2 test before you know where to go, because too *little*
estrogen is also a cause of ED, and especially a cause of lack of libido.
Since I started injecting and my T level got back to normal, I have great
libido except when I take too much Dim. Then I slack off for a say, and it
comes roaring back.

Estrogen (more specifically E2) should be monitored in the course of
any TRT. In contrast to this, Thyroid hormones and prolactin need to be
done only at the first screening (if found normal).
After some discussions with my endo (who has 25 years experience with
TRT) we concurred that (in my case) the most practical way to adjust
the T is to use the maximum dosis which still keeps E2 and Hematokrit
in the normal range. The results are excellent.
