| I've been prescribed 1mg Arimidex/day as my Estradiol was at 51 and my
total T was at 247. I've read that the normal Arimidex dose for men is
..5mg twice a week. Is 1mg/day going to do any harm? Or should I
assume my doc knows what he's doing? He IS a fertility doc, just want
to get some opinions.
Also, I'm taking 300mg/day Wellbutrin. He said that wouldn't have any
ill effects and I could continue taking it.
Thanks

Be very careful with high doses of Arimidex. Some men are very sensitive to
it. If it lowers your estradiol too much, you will be one very unhappy
camper. You are basically trying to nudge your estradiol down in the middle
of the window, not obliterate it. I think the prudent course would be to
start with the lower dosage and see how you feel, and what your next blood
work shows. I am pretty certain a lot of men take even less than the .5 mg
per day. Why not give the doc's office a call and ask why he started you on a
double dose?
Wellbutrin is purported to be a prosexual drug, so I would keep taking it if
low libido is one of your issues.

I'm not a doctor, but this seems like quite a high dose.
Here's an excerpt from something quoted in one of the
relevant Yahoo groups. I can post the whole thing if you
like. It's quite long.
