Arterial or venous insufficiency..what now?
|
|
|
| I'm a young guy that is about to be tested for arteriogenic or venous leak
from a blunt trauma to the perineum. I've seen many articles on possible
surgeries for artery revascularization and who could do those but not for
venous leak. It looks like everyone has pretty much given up on surgically
treating venous leak but I'm wondering if anyone has any info on a doctor
that would still be willing to perform a ligation surgery if my test comes
out with a venous leak? I really don't care about the consequences as I'd
really like to have natural function.

| Hi,
Back in 1992 I found "The Potent Male" by Dr. Irwing Goldstein, Boston Univ.
Copies may be in the local library and dealt with causes and treatment of ED
including implant surgery and by-pass surgery for leakage. If you can find
that book there may be others by now.
He is one of the pioneers in this surgery and you should get more details
and an evaluation to determine your options.

| Can you or anyone recomend a good pump? I was told by my uro
I probably had a leak.

| Your Uro should be able to recommend such a device. I have used the
Osbon Erecaid Esteem system with excellent results (www.Osbon.com). I
use it along with 100 mg of Viagra. The osbon is pricey but one can
usually find them on Ebay at less than 50% of retail if you bid judiciously.

________
I am not suggesting that this works for everybody. A severe venous leakage
is probably going to require some surgical intervention.
Here's a very short and simplistic explanation: Vacuum pumping, done
regularly and over a long period of time (many months) tends to enlarge
penile arteries and/or increase their capacity for delivering oxygenated
blood to the penis. The more aterial flow you have coming in, the better
the erection. The more efficient the arterial blood flow in is, the more
time it takes the venous system to drain it out such that you reach a point
where the venous system cannot drain as fast as the arterial system is
delivering.
I have been at pumping for some four years now. At some point during that
time, new arteries started appearing on the shaft (from the blood exchange
"exercise" I was getting regularly). A whole network of them.
When you think about it, the penis (flaccid) doesn't get a whole lot of
blood exchange relative to some other organs. Erect, there is a continual
and very-enhanced exchange of oxygenated blood (arterial) for de-oxygenated
blood (venal) going out. This is why we have nocturnal erections - they are
a simple series of "exercises" the body creates on its own to clear out
"gunk" that accumulates in our penile vascular systems while we are flaccid
(most of any day) and to re-oxgenate penile tissue to get us ready for the
next sexual erection.
