| My blood tests show I am low. Have been for a while. I used Viagra
successfully for several years but then it stopped working. Can't get hard
enough for penetration. My doc first gave me shots. No effect. Then we tried
the gel patch but that is such a pain to wear. Is there a vitamin supplment
out there or some other thing I can do to boost my "T" level?

There also are rub-on gels that are much easier to handle than patches,
but less easy than shots (needs to be done daily). Testim is a
popular brand of it.

| Hi,
This is apples an oranges.
TRT effects the libido but not a permanant cure for ED unless you are a teen
with poor development. E2 can bring you down because it is incorrectly
building up.
REad some good books on TRT like Shippen's, "The Tesosterone Syndrome",
$14.95 at Barnes and Nobel. Browse even if you don't buy. You may want to
know what is up ahead like infertility if you choose TRT.
You should not get shots to improve ED, just libido. IF no erections then go
for viagra or more if you can stand it. Viagra is notorious for not being
reliable. Some fast before using it and take it well in advance of need.
Go to a uro that provides injection therapy and get a diagnosis to see if
you have leakage problems. I prefer trimix for a fast, firm and long lasting
erection.

You should probably find out why your T is low.
Did you have any other bloodwork aside from Testosterone? It sounds
like your doc may have done the same thing mine did -- my T came back
low and he started me on testosterone replacement therapy.
As it happens I have high prolactin which causes my testosterone to be
low. (I have a couple of small tumors on my pituitary gland which
cause my problem)
There are other things that can cause low testosterone as well. Based
on info I found in this group I asked my primary care physician for
the following blood tests:
SHBG, FSH, Testosterone, Estradiol, Prolactin, TSH, LH, Free T, Total
Estrogens and DHEA.
As a result of those tests he recommended I see an endocronologist.
Let us know how things work out.
