Hi all,

Can someone help me with some questions I have.

Do men with ED get horny? Do they get that tingle you get when you
feel aroused but they just can't get the man downstairs to stand up.

It sound like a dumb question but it is important for my self
diagnosis of my problem. You see when it comes to getting horny I get
nothing usually.

I ask this as I am trying to work out if the core of my erctile
problems are to do with a lack of drive (low libido) or classic ED.

You see I have an amazing girlfriend, and I love pleasing her via oral
sex but I don't feel ANY sensation of arousel myself during oral
activity.
She then goes to give me oral and I just lose my erection. Penatrative
sex is just not possible at the moment and you can realise the
difficulty
this is causing.

The fact that I don't feel aroused at any time during the whole
process is what is making me ask these questions but as I am not other
guys
I do not know what other ED sufferes feel.

I mean would a classic ED sufferer giving his lover oral feel aroused
but just not get a wood. I just don't feel anything and
it is freaking me out as my women is beutiful and sexy and as you can
probably imagine highly understanding.

I am freaking a little as Cialis just does not work for me and I am
afraid Viagra will be the same deal. This is
why I need to get a better understanding of where my labido fits into
all of this.

I mean cialis does not claim to increase your labido but do you think
it maybe does not work as my labido is simply too low.

I am off to see an endcro and have had t tests done one of which came
out low. I am seeing a urologist but he is not very helpful TBH.

I am not looking for next step advise (i.e who to see and what to do),
my roadmap is set through previous advise from you guys and
professionals.
I am seeking clarification on low labido how it effects your erections
and how men with ED generally feel with regards to arousal so I
understand my problem better.

Please advise.

Low libido can be one of the factors in ED. Performance anxiety can be one of
the factors in ED as well. You don't say your age, so it is hard to know
where you fit in the spectrum.

If your T is low, this is likely one of the culprits. You are doing the right
thing in seeing and endo. The more experience he/she has in treating ED, the
more successful the outcome will be. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi,

For me the low libido also means that I feel as I have lost the connection
between the brain and the groin region (penis, tesicles, and so on). I feel
as though there is no sexual "spark" down there. This is something that I
notice constantly - before when I had normal libido, I had a completely
different feeling down there throughout the day, and when I though of sex,
I could feel an immediate response.

It's somewhat hard to describe, but if you feel anything like this you can
probably relate to it? I don't know if all men with low libido feel like
this (i.e. that there is no connection between brain and penis, no sexual
spark in the groin, and so on), or if they just don't get aroused as often
or as easily?

Regards,

John

Yes, but the question is still valid - do all guys who have ED also have/get
low libido? Or can you have ED and still have a high libido, even if
thinking of sex and so on does not produce any erectile response due to the
ED? Doesn't your brain "learn" that it's no use thinking of sex since it
won't produce an erectile response, and therefore you'll gradually lose the
"connection" between the brain and the penis?

It would be interesting to hear some experiences from people about this...

I agree with John's points. I am no medical expert in this field but I
can't help feeling that there may be some fellas here that suffer more
so from a low labido (due to low T or other reasons) which in turn is
causing erectile problems than just pure ED. But they go to a Uro and
they are perscribed Cialis or V and sent packing. Well in my experience
fellas if you don't have a labido then Cialis does nothing for you. It
seems you need to have a realtively healthy sex drive in order for that
drug to do it's job period.

This is why you do have to ask the question are you as horny as a bunny
but can't get it up or do you feel nothing like me a lot of the time.
Your Uro should be asking you this!!!

Low labido is higher up the chain IMHO. It's like if you eat a high fat
diet you get the effects such as heart disease. So isn't it more
sensible to look at your diet rather than loading you with heart
disease pills like doctors do. Do you get my drift.

So what I am saying is be sure that it's not your labido causing you to
get ED not just ED on it's own.

The fact I wake up almost every morning with a usable erection but by
night time I am a classic ED sufferer tells me a lot.

I admit it's not clean cut and there are many factors but I think my
labido is a major part of my problem judging on how hard I sometimes
get when I first wake up.

Or it could well be that I am new to this and have it completely the
wrong way round.

By the way John I am 27. Thus my worry.

My low libido was caused by low T. When my doc tested my testosterone
it came in around 140 with 300-1000 being normal.

I never thought of sex. I remember being around some guys at work and
having them make comments about women and thinking to myself, "I'm so
glad I've evolved beyond that." Hell, I hadn't evolved ... I had no
testosterone to speak of.

My problem seemed to come on during a time in which our children were
very small. We have three boys -- currently 11, 9 and 6. We, the wife
and I, spent years being tired all of the time ... this would have
started 11 years ago and would have stopped just about 4 years ago
(we'll use that date as that is when I started low-T treatment). So,
for about 7 years we had limited sexual encounters just because we
were tired all of the time.

At some point during that time my T dropped. I assumed my lack of sex
drive was due to fatigue. When the youngest started sleeping through
the night -- allowing my wife and I to do the same -- it never occured
to me I had a problem even though I still had no libido ... I was the
way I was and the only experience I had with respect to the problem
was being me (that is a nice sentence -- it should really be on a
T-shirt, eh). What I'm trying to get out is I was not that old, I
didn't feel sick. I didn't know people could have hormone problems. I
thought I was normal. I didn't realize I had low libido. I didn't
think I had ED ... even though I once went soft while receiving oral
sex.

When my wife suggested we have sex 3 times a week. I thought it would
kill me. It seemed like a lot of work.

Looking back on it I can't beleive I was that stupid. Well, hindsight
is 20/20 (sometimes you need corrective lenses, however).

So, when I had low Testosterone I had low libido and ED (depression,
unexplained weight gain, etc.) I never thought about sex with my wife
or fantasized about other women. When I would have sex I was just
going through the motions -- I was never lost in the moment; it seemed
like work. When I would give my wife oral sex -- something I enjoy --
I would not get hard. I would never get the tingle you mention.

After getting treatment (Dostinex to control the prolactin and
therefore boost the T) I notice women more. Over Christmas my sister
was talking about two of her girlfrineds -- friends I'd snuggled with
20 years ago -- and I had stirrings (I'm getting stirrings now just
typing about them) and yesterday while getting coffee a coworker and I
were making small talk and I mentioned an old girlfriend (in the
context of a humorous story) and I had stirrings. While driving home
one day I noticed a gal taking her trash cans in and felt something.
These were all unexpected events.

I'm not exactly high-school horny all of the time ... but then again,
I'm not sitting behind Debbie S. in chemistry anymore. Still, the
tingle is back, at least to some extent.

>>Hi all,[vbcol=seagreen]

Interesting question: low libido cause ED? I think, for me, after 10 years
of zero penetration the fear of failure came into play in a big way. Plenty
of desire, no wood. The signals were sending ok, but no one 'picked up'
at the other end. Lucky for me my wife was understanding(for years she
thought it was her, and I didn't want to talk about it). Since finding V &
C things are back to (?) normal, and I can usually finish with wood what my
brain started.
Hope this helps,
fcr

It all helps.

I think ED is often compunded by various forces working towards making
your dick soft. I think a lot of us are faced with the a problem that
causes ED then anxiety comes along and creates kaos down there.

As a recent forum member told me - "adrenalin, the world biggest wood
killer!!".

How do those of you go about getting hold of your V or C as the doctors
here in the UK ration it to 4 a month which for an active sex life is
useless. Any ideas.

Do you mean that's all they'll write a prescription for or that's all the
gov't will pay for?
