As I am getting older, achieving an orgasm takes more and more time. But
recently a new symptom has occured: whenever I ejaculate I feel a kind of
pain in my penis, but mostly in my XXX. It feels like a kind of a cramp. It
takes 5 to 10 minutes to ease. What is going wrong ? Peter

That has always happed to me if I let too much time pass between
ejaculations. The cure is to have more sex or masturbate more often.

I just wanted to add that the pain is from congestion in your prostate.
Since the pain is only associated with ejaculation and resolved
spontaneously, it doesn't sound like chronic postatitis. You should make
sure that you are adequately hydrated and minimize the consumption of
caffeine and alcohol. If increasing the frequency of ejaculations doesn't
help, you should have a physician evaluate your condition. Most likely it
isn't anything serious but it could be a sign of benign prostatic
hyperplasia or a non-bacterial prostatitis.

Will tag onto that. Uro has given me a "soft target" of twice a week. He
said that there was sufficient data to make that a good practice past
the age of 55. I'm well past. (Haven't googled to find a paper etc.)

Hmmm, looked up the link:

Uro was letting me off easy -- target should have been higher. This
will cause me to rub it raw -- Have to stock up on band-aids. ;-)

Mr. Softy and LMac thanks for the advices, and the web site address, but I
have become a little bit anxious though. I do have a prostate enlargement,
and I am taking a selective alpha blocker called tamsulosin. My libido
decreased in the last three years, so my interest in penetration or in
masturbation is less. Consequently I have 4-5 ejaculations in a month, and
see no way to increase it. Peter

OK, looks like it is time for a recap on lubricants, as we don't want
LMac to get friction burns on Mr. Happy.

For masturbation, olive oil is best. A little dab will do ya!

Don't use it for intercourse, as it may provide a culture medium for
bacteria in your lady's vagina. In fact, if you are uncircumcised, be
sure to peal back and wash it all off, for the same reason.

For intercourse, if lubricant is needed, KY jelly or the equivalent.
(KY tends to dry up too fast for masturbation use.)

I like Albolene Cream. It is a petroleum based lube that is intended for
removal of makeup, although it is clear that the maker realizes that people
use it for masturbation because of their ad placements. You can't use it
with latex, especially condoms. It is often hard to find and costs around
$10 for a jar.

I make my own from a formula that I found in a book called "Extended Sexual
Orgasm." The formula is as follows

1 slab of paraffin wax
10 oz. mineral oil (baby oil)
1 tablespoon Vaseline

I put the wax in a heavy pan and melt it on low. I then add the Vaseline
and stir until melted. Remove from heat and add the oil. Pour into
containers (I use old margarine tubs) and let cool. I cool it in the
refrigerator. Don't leave the wax unattended on the stove or you risk a
fire.

You can get one pound packages of Gulf Wax in the canning section of your
supermarket or discount store. Each package has four slabs of wax.

You can use any type of baby oil that you like. I get the kind with aloe
and vitamin E. I suppose that you could substitute oil oil. For about $5 you
can make the equivalent of four jars of Albolene.

If you prefer a water based lube, you can Google and find formulas. The
ingredients for KY-type lubes can be obtained from soap making supply houses
online.

For the record, due to trademark issues "Vaseline" as sold in the United
States is not the same material as "Vaseline" sold in Europe.

Also, for the British, substitute a quarter pound of "canning wax" for
paraffin, since the liquid that you right-side-of-the-ponders call
"paraffin" is what we in the US call "kerosene", something that would be
quite painful on Mr. Happy!

Good idea, was fearful that I'd fall in love with the bar of soap in the
shower. But, just came back from checking out the pantry and have more
questions:

1. Does "Extra Virgin" olive oil provide a more satisfying result than
regular olive oil? Or,

2. Should I just read the label to heighten the effect? Or,

3. Should I test and file a report here ?

Fear not. Foreskin lost 72 years ago; and, I've lived through one nasty
yeast infection. Guys are supposed to throw most yeast off and can get
by with a topical spray. But, her gynecologist put me in the woodshed
for a month and had me stuffing small fragments of gentian violet
suppositories into my uretherea. Never again and the memory of that is
a personal negative for considering Muse !

A lot of us "short armed" old farts with age-related shrinkage have to
be careful about too much slipperiness -- it can promote a "fall-out"
incident that's worse than the nuclear variety!

My Lube tip -- Our "first line" lube is called "Silk." It's a liquid
that takes the very tiniest of dabs. Less slip than either KY jelley or
liquid. Blends well with vaginal fluid and holds up well on nipples.
Taste isn't much better than KY. Flavor of the month here is Doc
Johnson's Mango.

We keep the KY stuff in the nightstand for an occasional change. KY
warming liquid (tan label) sounds like a great idea but we're not
getting a significant sensation out of it. Is anyone getting any real
"warming" out of that product? And, how are the warming products from
Doc Johnson -- any allergic reactions or rashes?

Finally, I'm still reeling under the idea of 21 ejaculations per month
as a minimum to assure the best level of prostate health (at least
Leitzman's research gives me a couple of 3-day weekends each month.)
The Uro was really giving me a lot of slack. When I see him in January,
I'll accuse him of, "not caring." Maybe he's seen too much geriatric
prostatitis.

As another alternative I've been very pleased with a lubricant called
Astroglide. I think it cleans off much easier than KY.
