thank you everyone for all your help.I have suffered with this
condition for years and instead of hiding behind it I have learned to
embrase it,and it has gotten better for me,,,,for now.I have found out
about the compound pharmacies,but finding a urogogists to write the
script seems to be the hardest part.I live in the philadelphia area,if
anyone could point me in the right direction I would happily pass it on

to others that suffer with our condition.Again thank you all for your
help!

This is a copy of first of the "Obtaining TriMix" article that I
referenced in my previous post. Follow it and you will find an
urologist.

Part 1. - Finding a doctor that uses TriMix.

I recently went South to the "Big City" for a month to visit with my
son. One of the things on my "To Do" list while there was to find a
urologist that would prescribe TriMix.

My first approach was to call the office of the doctor that had bought
out the practice of my deceased urologist.

After three phone calls and finally talking to his PA, I found out
that they had never heard of TriMix.

Since there were about 27 urologists listed in the phone book, this
could have been a long, drawn out process.

Trying a different approach, I went to the web site for the
International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists
(http://www.iacprx.org/)and selected the "Help Me Find A Compounding
Pharmacist!" button. This took me to a page to enter my zip code and a
search radius.

The search resulted in six compounding pharmacy's within 10 miles. I
called one and asked the pharmacist if they compounded Trimix. They
said that they did. I inquired about an approximate price for 10ml.
They said the cost could vary between $60 and $160, depending on the
prescription. (This was within the range that I have seen posted on
ASI.) I then asked if they could tell me the names of some local
doctors which prescribed Trimix. They gave me the names of two urology
clinics, each having 6 to 8 doctors. A phone call to one verified
that the doctors indeed prescribed TriMix. An appointment was then
made.

This worked out much easier than going down the list of 27 area
urologists asking each if they prescribed TriMix.

Your biggest problem will be finding a doctor who knows how to
prescribe Trimix and a _sterile_ compounding pharmacy that can make it.

First find out if your uro has ANY patients on Trimix.

I'll bet the answer is no.

If so, then you locate a compounding pharmacy in your area and ask if
they can make Trimix.

If they say yes, then ask if will they supply you with the names of the
physicians who prescribe it.
