Hello,
Im a 30yo male, generally healthy, non-smoker, suffering from ED for a
no of years. Lab results as follows:
Delta Androstenedione 3.48 (0.68 - 10.0 nmol/L)
Dihydrotestosterone 1.71 (0.50 - 3.70 nmol/L)
Serum DHEA-S 5.32 (0.95 - 11.90 umol/L)
Oestradiol 184 (28 - 156 pmol/L)
FSH 2.9 (1 - 8 U/L)
LH 3.0 (2 - 12 U/L)
Prolactin 223 (39 - 450 mU/L)
PSA 0.8 (< 2.5 ng/ml)
SHBG (TEBG) 22.3 (13.0 - 71.0 nmol/L)
TSH 1.89 (0.49 - 4.67 mIU/L)
Free Testosterone 66.3 (49 - 145 pmol/L)
Total testosterone 18.1 (8.4 - 28.7 nmol/L)
Free T4 13.5 (9.1 - 23.8 pmol/L)
Free Androgen Index 81.2 (14.8 - 94.8 ratio)
I know the oestradiol jumps out, and from reading this NG that's
important, but what about some of the other measures. Shouldnt I be at
the other end of the Free T range given my age, for example? Bloodtest
was done early in the day, when T levels are supposed to be higher ..
Thanks
Dave

In my personal experience, free T is a more important indicator than total T
of how you will feel and perform sexually. Your free T is very low indeed.
That, in combinaton with your elevated estradiol levels, may be a
contributing factor in your ED. But if you read the posts here, you'll see
that there are a lot of other factors that need to be considered: meds,
lifestyle, partnership situation, ability to have nocturnal erections, etc.

| You're at 18 percentile of the free T ref range, which seems
low for your age.
Your estradiol is out of limits high which is clearly wrong.
Those two might be related since high estradiol can inhibit T
production.
I wouldn't just start taking testosterone, even IF your doctor
prescribes it. You need further examination by an endocrinologist
proficient in male reproductive hormone issues to understand the
root cause.
Your LH (which triggers testosterone production) is low
although marginally within the ref range. This also seems
suspicious.
There are medications very effective at lowering estradiol,
but I wouldn't take them unless a proficient endocrinologist
first examines you and does all relevant tests.
