Tribulus, DHEA, Progesterone... Works For Aout A Day, Then...
|

| Seems to boost my libido and erections, and then it's like the body shuts it
all down. I use Androgel daily (5 gm).
My recent test are:
Free T = 16.9 Ref range = 8.7 - 25.0
Estradiol = 28.5
Thoughts?

| So... if my T is fine and my estradiol is low.... why is my libido ZERO and
I have ED?
Thoughts?
Thanks

| I guess one of the bigger issues is the lack of feeling, too.
Thanks

Chris, I think you need to provide a more detailed profile before anyone can
hazard a semi-informed guess about why you are having problems.
Your age? Your lifestyle? Your complete blood workup? Meds you take and have
taken in the recent past? Do you drink alcohol, coffee, etc.? What are the
manifestations of your ED/libido issues? Are you with a partner? Do any of
the common ED drugs help with your condition? Which have you tried? You've
provided only the tiniest amount of information. Those who are pronouncing
commenting are only shooting from the hip until you give us a clearer picture
of your situation.

Married x 13 years

I have had hypothyroidism since I was 16 (23 years). My last TSH was
..24 (low) so perhaps some of what is going on is my Synthroid dose is
too high. I take Synthroid, Androgel 5 gm daily.
>Do you drink alcohol, coffee, etc.?:
Yes, 1- 2 cups per day, but no different than before. Alcohol
infrequently.
>What are the manifestations of your ED/libido issues? Are you with a partner? Do any of the common ED drugs help with your condition? Which have you tried?:
I have tried Viagra and Cialis. I have had an increase in libido with
Cialis. I take arginine at night and just started maca in the morning
and early afternoon.
I've gone from about a month ago with having a libido and able to have
sex every night to no libido what so ever and all I can do to get an
erection with my wife or by other means. And I have lost the majority
of feeling and it is not as pleasurable any more. My last free T level
was 16.9 (with normal range for my age) and my estradiol was 28.5 (well
in the middle to low end of the range).
Sleep apnea is also a factor. I am tired a lot despite wearing my
CPAP.
Thanks
Chris

Chris, are you saying that a month ago your libido and sex life were fine,
and now, one month later, you have no libido? That is a very strange set of
circumstances. At the risk of asking the obvious question, what changes have
you made in the last 30 days? The only thing I can think of is that you are
overdosing on Synthroid, which can be very very dangerous. As you've seen
from the posts here, Androgel can cause fluctuations in estrogen and
testosterone levels which could be another factor... but if you've been on
the same regimen for quite a while, and you are suddenly experiencing a
decline in libido, that is very baffling. The idea with TRT is to get the
most stable delivery of testosterone possible. As far as I know, T-cypionate
is the best way to accomplish that.
One other thing I am confused about : it sounds to me as if your blood work
was done while you were on TRT. Is that correct?

Yes.
I'm thinking that it is a combination of thyroid a little too high. I'm
down now so I'll see what happens in the next week or so.
Thanks

I have too. Just because they are both primarily PDE5 inhibitors doesn't
mean that they do not have other actions or inhibit other enzymes. Your
symptoms are very like mine and your reaction to Cialis is as well. Same
pattern of onset and loss of feeling(getting some back ) The fact that you
have a sleep disturbance is also interesting. I don't have apnea but arousal
index is severe.
Most men with ED develope it gradually or from nerve damage due to prostate.
A sudden onset is not very common..

Same here. It's like going from 18 to 80 in a few weeks. Right? All tests are
normal.
What other physical or mental symptoms do you have? I'd be interested to
hear if they're the same.
And I have lost the majority

Get a re-titration on the CPAP. I have been on a CPAP for almost 3 years,
was sleeping a little crappy for awhile, went back in, and found that mine
was too *high* for me now. Had it re-set, and ecerything is hunky-dory once
again.
