Temporary aphrodisiac advice needed.

| Hi all. After a bout of depression a few years back I have almost lost
all interest in sex.And when i do engage in it,I get very little
pleasure from it.However i have no trouble getting an erection, it's
just a complete lack of pleasure/interest in sex (when i say sex,it is
interchangeable with masturbation, matter of fact it mostly is
masturbation...).
I know I need to see a doctor, but as a temporary,'stop-gap' measure to
help me until i do see one, can someone recommend a substance they have
actually tried THEMSELVES,which has raised their interest in sex? I
place an emphasis on something which you've tried yourselves coz I have
seen a lot of stuff listed on the web, such as zinc, which is supposed
to raise your sex drive, but because there are so many substances with
reportedly aphrodisiac properties I am confused as to the ones which
ACTUALLY work.
Also,I'd prefer something which has an immediate effect, rather than
something i have to take for a long time before it starts to work.
I'd prefer something i can buy from the pharmacy, but would consider
something i have to order online.as long as it isn't too hard to get.I
have tried alcohol, and it does slightly increase my sexual
interest, but not to any great extent. Also I have tried a chemical
called GHB,
which most ppl say increases their sex drive, but for me it had very
little effect in this regard.
Thanks for reading my post, and i know due to the indecent nature of
the topic I risk getting flamed, but please hold back as I'm quite thin
skinned.Bye friends.

| I can relate to your demise Sawal, I to have lost the desire to have
sex in the last 2 years. In my case it was a combination of reasons but
mainly it was because my ex, while a very sweet woman, became
completely unattractive to me.She has let herself go and I don't know
where she went!! I got rid of her and now hopefully things will get
better!!
Seriously though, have you considered that your Testosterone level has
dimished significantly? I recently heard a statistic that said men (
oops,im assuming your a guy) lose a huge amount of testosterone as they
age. The affected age group from what I recall is between 30 and 40
years of age( the actual number was much more narrow I just don't
remember..maybe 32-36?..somewhere in your 30's to 40's) Anyways,from
the sounds of the report I heard this could be a reason for your low
sex drive.
It's just another one of God's little jokes: When men get to their 30's
lets wipe out their sex drive but when women hit their 30's lets double
theirs!! Thanks Big Guy.....thanks alot!!

right about the fact he's a bloke rick! ..
hi ... sawal....
i also had similar issues over the years... mainly inline with my rise
in opiate use...
but i'm afraid i know of nothing otc thats likely to help....
but, have you tried cialis? ..the 'new' viagra.... although you dont
have a problem getting a hard on, thay do actually make you feel rather
'nice' !
i had them prescribed a year or so ago when i managed to fracture my
dick in sexual antics ... yep! ... all better now, thankfully... bit
of a kink though..
finally, if you were willing to throw the law of the land to the wind,
i could recommend (again personally) no better than mdma for sheer
action stations, .... but watch yer antics... re: the paragraph above!!

An immediate effect means viagra or cialis, but generally "immediate" is
not good for your health. You can try Rhodiola, or start weight lifting
plus supplementation with zinc and glutamine. Some have posted about
seleginile.

Good old methamphetamine helps, I love sex after methamphetamine & valium.
That'll give you instant results, the herbal stuff takes months for any
affect.

If you had depression stay away from X-tasy your looking for the wrong drug
it may give you temporal satisfaction, in the long run your depression will
get worse
and causes long term effects which are irreversible.
Try prescribed Calais, Viagra, zinc, the OTC meds take longer but in the
long run your better off as you have a lifetime ahead of you don't go and
mess it up with X-tasy or acid as it will only compound your problems in the
long run.

What about that stuff tht NASA gives it's astronauts --somethign the rapper
called "sex packets" which are supposed to be some sort of instant way to
get aroused
Was that all hype or was it real?
heh
Someone needs to market those damned things
would beat all the cialis and viagra ads all to hell on TV
instant hardon and arousal
wonder if it would work on my woman-- as looking at Si's bulging thyroid
eyes in the gallery has robbed her of her sex drive
She claims every time she wants to have sex those haunting freaky eyes come
into her mind and they rob her of any sexual desire and she only wants to
cream in pain at the thought of someone as freaky as Si coming thru the
bedroom door like the crazed man he must be
I suppose the only thing to do is to go fly to th eUK and de-eyeball Si
and put those buggers in a case for her collection of oddities of nature

Jesus, a long winded dissertation that could have been summed up by
simply asking "hey what do you take to get your freak on?" It pays to
be concise!
Get an Archie comic book and order some Spanish Fly from the
back....and get some of those "X ray vision glasses" too...the two go
hand in hand ifyouknowwhatimean.

Have you read Irvine Welsh's new book "Porn".. There's a (painfully)
great scene where Juice Terry fractures his dick when someone walks in
on them filming a porn scene. And yes, if MMDA (Ecstasy) doesn't do it
for you, I don't think anything will. Shit, we had to remove every
doorknob in the house so the women wouldn't have their way with them.

A doctor can determe whether the poor sap has a medical condition which can
be treated and may underlie his depression and/or impotence. Partying and
going to dead shows may be fun every now and then, but it's a pathetic way
to live life.
Perhaps when you're grown up you'll understand such things.

No sex drive... Admittedly thin skinned...
Are you absolutely sure you're over your depression? Perhaps you're a
bit better than you were, but you still sound like someone who's
depressed to me.
Yeah, gettin' to a doc is a pretty good idea. Aside from what you're
telling us, be sure to mention the following parts of your life:
sleep, appetite, concentration, energy, irritability, interest
(general and sexual).
Perhaps if your mood improves, your sex drive will as well. While
you are waiting for your doctor's appointment, read up on and
consider the following:
-Fish oil- 4 grams daily
-SAM-e 400mg once or twice daily on empty stomach (expensive- May
substitute T.M.G. also called betaine 500mg twice daily)
-B-Complex (B-50) one daily(always a good idea when using SAM-e or
tmg).
Give them a few weeks....
For straight aphrodisiac effects, results are quirky and may vary
person to person. Read up on and consider DHEA, Yohimbe, Horny
Goat Weed. All OTC. I like DHEA, but some question about long-term
use and cancer. Take some Vit E with it.
Good research at pubmed.gov
Good luck.

| Sawal..Today is your lucky day! I happened to go down to NY this past
weekend to visit my two best friends. My friend Bill and his band had a
CD release party at a club down on Long Island.ANNNNYway..my other best
friend, Eddie, is a Physician's Assistant so I get lifetime supplies of
sample meds all the time ( I have so much Zantac and Prilosec I will
NEVER get indigestion again...nor will my grandkids!)
So Saturday nite we're getting ready to go out and my bud gets out of
the shower and starts to get ready. Before he puts his shirt on he pops
out this package like a ketchup packet.I asked him what it was and he
throws me a pack.Suffice it to say I have found the cure for you AND
for me! Ask your DR about a product called AndroGel. It's made by
Unimed Pharmaceuticals / Solvay Pharmaceuticals. Basically it is 1%
testosterone gel. You absorb it through your skin. I have a bunch of
sample packs he gave me. I haven't begun the therapy yet so I can't
tell you anything about it good or bad but for what it's worth when I
asked my buddy what it does his reply was "It makes me XXXX like a
teenager!". I took that to mean he was happy with the results!
Not sure if your in the US but I suspect Testosterone Gel isn't that
uncommon in many countries. Might be just what you need.Hope this
helps!

The guy has a medical problem. That's what doctors are for. They generally

who want others to adopt their sorr life style.
So go ahead, don't see a real doctop and listen to these drug-addled,

| I'm not going to get into some pissing contest with you over my
suggestion but I do take offense at being called a XXXXing moron. If you
took the time to read the post you would see that the OP inferred that
his 'bout with depression" was over ( something about "..a few years
ago") At any rate I assumed that he either had gotten a handle on his
depression or is currently being treated for it. I never suggested he
see a "drug abusing idiot" for his problem in fact I think I said to
ask his Dr about the possibility of being Testosterone depleated. The
product I suggested is only available thru a script and therefor would
have to be ok'd by a real Dr. If I didn't directly say to see a Dr I
would think a semi intelligent person wouldn't just take the advice of
anyone and start seeking out Black market testosterone gel but rather
take the suggestion and maybe do some research of their own and/or ask
their Dr. Oh and by the way,my friend who told me about the gel and
uses it himself is a PHYSICIAN'S ASSISTANT who deals with all sorts of
medical issues every day, a pretty reliable source in my book!
For the record I am neither stoned nor unemployed and if you took a
second to thouroughly read others posts before spouting off like a
XXXXing moron yourself you would see that my last line says that MAYBE
( repeat MAYBE) this will help.Never in my post did I even remotly
suggest that the OP just go blindly rubbing gel on their nads.He asked
for suggestions and I gave him one.
The more I think about this the more I realize that you sir are just a

No, he would have implied it and YOU would have inferred it. And it wasn't
implied, it was clearly stated...what was implied was that it was not over

Enjoy. Sounds like a rocking good time, throw in a couple of fat chicks and

But it's not very good advice for the poor sap who originally posted about

One of the many things I learned back in my drug abusing days was that some

Depends where..a true PA has a real degree, but it's not an exact term in

Sad? Recommending that a person who seems to have profound medical and
psychological issues seek medical advice rather than ingesting street drugs
and shit passed along through friends from a physician's assistant? The sad
thing is that anyone would think self-medication is the answer. Perhaps it
helps you wrestle with your own demons of inadequacy, to get XXXXed up,
pretend they aren't problems and instead blame the straight people for not
understanding the brilliance and insight you gain from drugging.
Go back to quoting dead songs...

What are you talking about?? You say "much of what he is describing.."
What is he describing? To me he only described his lack of sex drive.
There are numerous possible reasons for diminshed sex drive only one of
which is depression. Another very typical reason in middle aged men is
a depletion in testosterone.IT MIGHT EVEN BE A COMBINATION OF BOTH!!
and god knows most guys would be pretty depressed if they
> couldn't even get it up enough to wack off.
What was clearly stated? The OP said and I quote "After a bout of
depression a few years back I have almost lost all interest in sex" The
first three words to me implies ( see how fast I learn!!) that his bout
with depression is not an issue for him any longer.Perhaps he doesn't
realize it may still be an issue but his words imply otherwise. Further
down the line he also states " I know I need to see a Doctor..." so I
didn't feel the need to remind him..he already knows!! Then he went on
to ask if "someone can recommend a substance they have actually tried
themselves which has raised thier interest in sex" Jesus, the XXXXing
guy asked for suggestions and your condemning me for offering one?Why
aren't you jumping down the OP's throat for posing such a request to a
newsgroup called alt.drugs.hard?
And another thing, he didn't even say that he has lost ALL of his sex
drive only "almost all.." and your comment about "anyone would be
pretty depressed because they couldn't get it up enough to wack off"
only tells me you know nothing about clinical depression so you really
shouldn't be spouting off like you do.

Yes,Yes I did!
Once again blowhard go back and read my post before you start insulting
me.In the middle of my post I clearly state "Ask your DR about a
product called AndroGel..." Does that not count as a recommendation?
How much more clear shouold I be? Actually I would challange you or
anyone to find a legal supply of AndroGel without a doctors
prescription. If he can't get the medication how will he be abusing it.
( can you even ABUSE topical testosterone?)
You instead talked about using
> the stuff as a party drug,
I never said anything about it being a "party drug" at all. What I did
say was that my friend was putting it on before WE went out to a club
but that was just for the sake of the continuity of the story. Just so
you understand, rubbing one packet of 1% testosterone ( about 1-2
Tbsps.) on yourself will not create some horned up sexual deviant in a
few minutes. It is a daily process whereby the level of testosterone is
increased gradually over time. This isn't a Viagra pill you take on a
'per occasion" basis.
as well as using other drugs given you by a
> friend who..duh...is not a doctor.
Zantac is an OTC med now for christ sake..so he gave me some samples,
big deal. I had a PA at my Dr's office a few weeks ago give me a bunch
of Amoxicyllin samples for an abcess I developed. She gave me the
samples so I wouldn't have to pay for a prescription. Was that wrong?
Should I only accept medication samples from a licenced physician?
AND
I never said he was a Dr I said he was a PA.I also said I have never
tried it so I can't tell the OP how it works BUT I said that my friend
had been using it and it worked well for him. I apoligize if you didn't
like the comment about being able to "XXXX like a teenager" but I
thought it was funny so I put it in. That was a quote from my friend
not from me.But you probably have no sense of humor as well as being
bitter so I guess I can't expect you to see the humor in that line.

I have seen my Dr once in 3 years, all other times I see a PA.I hardly
even know my Dr. Almost all private medical practices that I have seen
employ one or more PA's and evidentally it's ok with the AMA and state
medical boards for PA's to make routine diagnoses so I'm pretty sure it
takes more than a "matchbook correspondance class" to get licensced.
There are no Physicians Assistant's in the US who got there by taking a
correspondance course from home.My friend has a Masters degree and a
batchelors degree. He is a highly educated man and very good at what he
does.So I assume you're being sarchasdtic and just have a low opinion
of PA's and their education and training.

Wrong asswipe, my suggestion was for the OP to ask his Dr about the
suggested product and see if it may be of use to him.Go back and read
it again before you get all hostile! I know where you got the party
thing or the club Idea. I never even implied or inferred either it was
just to add continuity to the post. What I said was when I asked my

Wait a second....this is Eddie isn't it???? C'mon dude, ease up!! I
used to be a headcase stoner for years but I have been able to clean up

I'm going to abandon this thread now because obviously my post rubbed

suggested he try MDMA or Extascy or any of the many herbal remedies
they suggested but my suggetion of ASKING HIS DOCTOR ABOUT a 1%
Testosterone solution suspended in a gel which would probably do little
or no harm at all to the OP ( and could possibly even help him!) was so
off base that you need to insult me. Sometime you'll have to let me
know what it is about MY post that set you off and not one of the
others who suggest both illegal and potentialy dangerous drugs as a
cure and NEVER recommended the OP check with his Dr as I did?

Holy Shit!! You make this stuff up as you go along!!!! I NEVER
suggested he use any street drugs nor did I offer to provide him with
anything I got from any PA, friend or otherwise. In fact I don't have
any and my friend told me( just as I told the OP) to ask my dr about
the situation and mention the gel thing and see what he says.

he needs medical help.

Not needed for everyone, and considering the OP's history of mental illness,
some damned poor advice. Check the research and don't trust hpnotiq.

A local sports supplements store advertises it for athletes who want to

quenched whatever eros energy had been generated that evening. Interesting? I
don't know, as I haven't been tempted to repeat the experiment since.

| But the Yohimbe you buy at the health food store is nowhere near as potent
as Yohimbe prescribed by a physician (Yohimbine). No comparison, I tried
Yohimbe, little if any effects, was prescribed Yohimbine, wow! Lasts a
couple of hours, be careful if you have high blood pressure, you're sexual
urge returns with a vengence (if you lost it as a result of zoloft, etc),
also a headache and flush feeling. My doctor prescribed it for me when I
complained about how the SSRIs eliminated my libido.

| sawal_7432@yahoo.co.uk 2005-01-27, 6:50 am |
| Hi all.I'm the person who started this long thread with my inital
enquiry.Ok, to begin with,something a little humorous: Recently i
posted a question to Google groups about buying research chemicals
online, and I was accused by more than one person of being a cop
looking for info. Now i ask you, what sort of cop would ask for advice on
he's sexual problems, in the very same place where he's trying to
entrap ppl? I can see the funny side now, but to be honest I'm
seriously considering stopping posting on some of the Google drugs
groups due to the predictable cries of 'no officer,we can't help
you'.But I digress.
Thank you for all the replies to my question, and to be truthful i am
so busy right now i have only skimmed thru them. But thanks a lot to
Shopperick especially for he's well thought out posts.
I have considered maybe i have low testosterone, but even though i have
not had my testosterone tested, something tells me this is not the
reason for my lack of sed drive. My theory is that,5 years ago when i
suffered the very traumatic depression, the area of my brain which deals
with pleasure/reward froze (you know, like when your computer freezes
due to a software conflict, and you have to restart it to fix the
error?), well, even though the traumatic expereince is over, and i no
longer suffer from depression, the pleasure part of my brain is still
'frozen'.I mean, the brain is a very powerful organ, but how does the
pleasure system of my brain know it's ok to resume 'normal function',
it maybe still thinks i'm under extreme stress.
This theory is born out by the fact that most of my emotions are very
blunted (i hardly every cry, get angry etc etc). And I know that the
pleasure system of the brain plays an important role in emotions, next
time you cry, if you do some self-examination, you'll see that crying
actually feels GOOD, why does it feel good? Coz i think the pleasure
system is active. My pleasure system is very under-active, hence the
lack of crying,sex drive etc.
This is also why i asked about the research chemicals, yes, i need to
try something proven to enhance a persons sex drive, but maybe i should
also be looking at trying something which gives pleasure, like
5-meo-dipt.
Sorry for the rambling nature of this reply, like i said, i am very
busy right now, and normally i take the time to write well thought out
posts, but this time i have just stated everything that's on my mind.
Thanks for all your replies and bye my friends.

Have you tried Yohimbe? Just asking from a philosophical point of view.

alt.grumpy.cretins, that was a bad idea. Oh, and great advice to see a
doctor for depression. That prozac will do wonders for his sex life.

No, he would have implied it and YOU would have inferred it. And it wasn't
implied, it was clearly stated...what was implied was that it was not over
or resolved, since much of what he was describing was/is consistent with
depression...and god knows most guys would be pretty depressed if they
couldn't even get it up enough to wack off.

No, you never recommended seeing a doctor. You instead talked about using
the stuff as a party drug, as well as using other drugs given you by a
friend who..duh...is not a doctor.

Wow, a physician's assistant! I just saw an ad for that on TV during the
Springer show...learn at home and in three months you can be one, too!

And your suggestion was to get some of the stuff, put it on before going out
to the club and then XXXXing like a teenager. Right.....

Oooooo, such a response. I'm really put in my place now. Wow, told to XXXX
off by some head case stoner. Ouch!

Enjoy. Sounds like a rocking good time, throw in a couple of fat chicks and
it will really be some sweaty fun.
But it's not very good advice for the poor sap who originally posted about
his problems. He needs to see if he has any physical problems, resolve
them, get his head straight, and then go XXXX like a crazed doorknob.
One of the many things I learned back in my drug abusing days was that some
drugs, especially hallucinogens, are pretty nasty when combined with people
who are already XXXXed in the head.
