Hi everyone, been lurking on and off in this group for some time
now,and have never found a case quite like mine,so here i am posting
an enquiry about it:
I'm a 28 year old male, and about 5 years ago suffered from an
intenese bout of depression, combined with other very stressul life
events. The depression and other stress lifted on their own accord,
without the need for any medication.
Since then i have suffered from scars from that period, such as:feeling
emotionally numb, lack of motivation, and a general lack of being able
to experience pleasure. Before the stressful experience my sexual
functioning was pretty normal and average, but since i've had an almost
complete absence of sex drive.Although i am able to get and maintain
an erection (the erections are defintaly not as firm as before) and
ejaculate, when i do so, the pleasure is zero. Also there are no more
nocturnal emissions.Although i do get morning erections quite
often, but they are not extreely firm.
This is odd, because most ppl have trouble getting an erection in the
first place, but no trouble having an orgasm once they do so,in my case
the exact opposite is true.i can get an erection but no pleasure.I
belive that my illness is psychological, since i have not sustained any
head-injuries etc.
I am reluctant to see a doctor for a number of reasons,I would prefer
to buy medicines from an online pharmacy, and self-medicate.I
immediately know that most of you will strongly discourage this, but
it's my choice.Maybe in the future when i get some free time i will
see a doctor, but not right now.
I already have bought Bromocriptine pills (Paraldaol),what i want to
know, what kind of doses should i be taking for best effect? Also what
other medicines should i purchase? Testosterone? Vitamins?
Thanks for reading my post and bye.

My guess from what you wrote is that you are still depressed, just not so
severely as before during the crisis. You can self-medicate all you want
but that is not going to change the very strong link that exists between
your brain and your cock. You need some professional advice.

You don't want to see a doctor "for a number of reasons." Until you get
over that mind block, you are going to try this and that with no real
knowledge of what your hormonal levels are or what your body chemistry is.
At age 28, this seems irrational to me. You are spinning your wheels this
way, imo, and missing out on a lot of good orgasms because you haven't a
clue as to why yours are not pleasurable.

But you know that someone here would say that, so where have we got to with
your problem?

I know some people who don''t like to go to the doctor. You are the worst I've
ever known. Please do yourself a favor and go to the doctor's and see what is
what. You now don't know what is wrong with you.Not to say that the dr will
know without you telling him how u feel, but by what u say he can determine
what is wrong with you and possibly provide you with the appropriate
medication.

The other posters are exactly right about you needing to be medically
evaluated. It can only help to have a trained professional look at the
issues that you have brought up. Normally, I would want to address
these issues, but I decided to address the use of Bromocriptine:
it will only help if you have depressed levels of testosterone brought
about by your having high levels of Prolactin. However, Bromocriptine
also tends to lower human growth hormone (HGH) which can create symptoms
like those you already suffer from now.
Take a look at the following link:

http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic3/...riptine_ids.htm

After that, check around the 'net for the symptoms of HGH deficiency.
The body's physiology is a lot more complicated than some of the
internet based self help sites seem to indicate. You really ought to
see an MD and get checked out.
There is every reason to believe that you can be helped - and maybe much
quicker than you believe.
If your still reluctant to see a doctor, maybe you could share your
reasons here. Our collective experience is vast, and we may be able to
help advise you on how to prompt a primary doctor to refer you to the
appropriate specialist if needed.
Many of us found expert mentoring and advise right here.

Why is that ?

Most MD's are not going to order an HGH test for any condition like
the one described above.

IME, if your are lucky, the doctor _MIGHT_ order some male hormone
workups, but if the values are even in the low-normal range, they will
just tell you that everything is fine, and send you to a shrink or
write a script for Prozac.

Have fun fighting the doctors office to get YOUR OWN medical tests to
compare the values to those of men is your age range, and not the
averages that are used by most labs
