Your problems could relate to testosterone, especially if this therapy was
initially effective and then "wore off." What kinds of shots were you taking?
Testosterone replacement is as much an art as a science. When inexperienced
physicians prescribe it, the results are often as you describe. Extensive
blood work needs to be done in the early stages to measure levels of
estradiol, etc. Initially, you may feel extra energy and libido, only to have
soaring levels of estrogen shut that down and make you feel worse than ever.
TRT itself might not be indicated in your situation anyway... I think the
leading specialists in this area would first have tried HCG therapy, which
stimulates the body to produce its own testosterone.
You need to have your hormone levels checked by someone who understands what
to look for. If you are in the US, anywhere near Pennsylvania, the best
choice would be Dr. Eugene Shippen (if he's currently accepting new
patients).
Problems with weight gain are often related to testosterone levels too. In my
own case, not matter how much I dieted and exercised, I could not lose weight
successfully. Once I embarked on TRT, I dropped 35 pounds almost
effortlessly... my muscle tone improved... my energy increased... and my
libido returned to near normal. For what it is worth, I found the Weight
Watchers diet excellent once I got back on track. It helps you prioritize
food choices in a very positive way... you get to eat plenty... and lose
weight slowly and surely.
By the way, why are you walking across the room to get a condom? Especially
if you're married? Ask your wife to use a diaphragm... they are more
effective at birth control than condoms, and you won't have to go through the
erection-destroying act of fumbling with a condom and its wrapper... and in
your case, walking across the room, opening a drawer, taking out a box,
opening the box, taking out a condom... etc.
So my advice: first get your hormones looked into by a top specialist. At the
age of 28, daily doses of Viagra and frequent doses of Cialis should not be
the answer... and judging from your inability to perform even while on these,
they are clearly not the answer for you.
The most common symptoms of low testosterone are: tiredness, irritability,
low energy, difficulty losing weight, low libido, and ED. Sounds like you
have at least a few of those.
