Author tiredness from Cialis

Where can I find a list Cialis potential side effects? And has anyone
experienced tiredness after taking Cialis as prescribed (10 mg every 24
hours) for a period of 3 to 4 days? Could it be a liver related problem?
Thanks,
Pete (Dr. No)

For probably the best info on Cialis go to:

http://www.fda.gov/

and type "cialis" in the search box.

You will find a lot of info there including the data used to get the drug
approved in the US.

re: Liver
Could be, but probably is not.

re: Tiredness
When you first start to take cialis, most people seem to develop leg, joint,
muscle and/or lower back pains. After your body becomes used to cialis, the
pain goes away and the tiredness seems to set in. I find that I can reduce it
if I cycle off cialis for a day or two each week.

re: "as prescribed"
I think you will find that the manufacturer recommends NOT taking cialis daily.

On the FDA website, it says that Cialis can be taken daily. It probably
depends on the dosage and your response to the medication. I remember that
my md said that I could take it every 36 hours and it would ease the side
effects.
Anyway, thanks for your answers Ignatz.

Thanks!

I just rechecked and it does seem that they have toned down the earlier "not
for daily use" warnings.

The actual wording is "The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once per day
in most patients."

That is still a maximum and not a recommended dosage.

I have found that if you take half of your daily dose at 12 hour intervals, it
greatly lessens the side effects, while only slightly lessening the erection
benefits.

Just about any magazine that advertises it has a whole list of stuff on the
other side of the ad. You can also go to www.cialis.com

I don't like to say I distrust the government, but, uh, I distrust the
government. From what I understand, even a good doctor will prescribe better
than that.

Generally, I find that taking 10mg every third day is good. Somebody here
did the math and found that if you take the 20mg every day, you build to a
rather big number.

Take it slow.

For both the FDA site and the Eli Lilly Company say that daily dosing results
in 1.6 times the single dose for doses from 5mg to 20mg. The results for daily
doses above 20mg are not published (or at least I have not been able to locate
them.)

20mg daily equals a total daily dose of 32mg daily due to the body not clearing
(removing) all of the previous dose.

This tiredness after taking Cialis for 4-5 days at 10 mg every 24 to 36
hours is probably caused by the fact that I have liver problems. I've just
checked on the Cialis website where the Patient Information says :
"If you have kidney or liver problems or you are taking medications, your
doctor may limit your highest dose of Cialis to 10 mg a day and may also
limit you to one tablet every 48 (...) or 72 hours."

The Package Leaflet says:

"You should NOT take CIALIS more than once a day. Daily use of CIALIS is
strongly discouraged."

Unfortunatley, they do not say why.

I sort of agree w/ Jerry. I take it every 36 hours, but give it a couple of
days rest after about 10 days.
