| Has anybody tried the over the counter/internet stuff? I have heard of Vigor
25 and I am hoping that it or something else will get me "up" and keep me "up"
for the game, so to speak. Let me know if something worked or didn't work for
you. If I could get it up watching cartoons, that would great!

Most of these are overpriced garbage. They use such tiny amounts, or the
wrong (inferior) part of the plant.
Do a Google search , in this group, for : maca
On this site, the writer does a lot of experiments on himself with Asian
herbs, etc. I see he now charges for the best info.

But also keep in mind that what works for some won't work for others.
I've tried Maca and saw absolutely not an iota of positive results. On
the other hand, L-Arginine has been great.

I first used the one from KiloSports. Then I tried the one from Now.
The taste of the latter was stronger. So, I'm ready to switch back.
Currently I'm taking 15 grams daily, divided in 5 grams -- morning,
afternoon and evening. I'd suggest you start slowly and see how you
respond. Some people get by with 6 grams daily.

| Just FYI - and echoing ernestnolan's caution -
Some of the OTC products can be dangerous in the amounts being
recommended. Yohimbe and Horny Goat Weed both can dangerously raise
blood pressure. If you already have blood flow damage from untreated
high blood pressure, these products will only increase it as well as
put you at risk. They can assist if you're already healthy, if you're
not, they can worsen your problem and/or create new ones.
Ephedra (now illegal) was used by the Chinese for centuries in minute
doses; when American companies used it as a diet & energy "aid" it was
sometimes hundreds of times the strength prescribed by an Asian
herbalist. A dozen or so people abused it, had heart attacks and
dehydration, and now it's illegal. Unless of course you're a
pharmaceutical company and add it to your "new, improved" treatment for
obesity... and overcharge to keep your profit margin "healthy".
The use of L-Arginine in mega-doses can also trigger a herpes/shingles
outbreak - either genital or oral. That can sometimes be avoided with
commensurate doses of L-Lysine. But then, there's the issue of long
term use and its effects upon kidney and liver.

I have found that Jomar Labs
http://www.jomarlabs.com/main/index.asp
supplies a product that works as well as the KiloSports brand of L-Arinine
Base, that is slightly less expensive, they ship more reasonably and I receive
the product at least a week faster than an order from Kilosports. I can detect
no difference in the quality of the product.
Just a reminder, L-Arginine needs to be taken on an empty stomach to be of
benefit. I have been taking 10g (two heaping teaspoons) at bedtime for quite
some time now.
