Author Longterm storage of Josh's C?

I ran across a magazine ad for real Cialis, and noticed it says C
should be stored at room temperature (59 to 86 degrees).

I've kept my Josh supply in the refrigerator. Does that mean I've
ruined it? It's hard to see how any drug would deteriorate faster
in the refrigerator than at room temperature.

We don't know.

I assume, and it is just an educated guess, that the reason they recommended
room temperature, is to prevent moisture condensing on them when the package
was opened. If they are frozen in an airtight container, and that container is
allowed to reach room temperature before opening, they should be OK. Anecdotal
evidence shows that both high temperature and high humidity ruins generic
Calais.

When I received my supply, I divided them up in three tiny air tight bottles
and froze the two unused ones. I'm still using the first bottle which has been
stored at room temperature for the past seven months and cannot detect any loss
of potency, heck, if anything they are working better today than they did then!
At a quarter tablet per day, they are going to last a long time.........

I too just am sitting on an order from Josh still stored at room temp.
I was afraid to freeze them because I know some compounds are
destroyed by freezing (some B vitamins for instance). They do seem
plenty potent and I've wondered how well they cut. Ignatz, do you
cut them into quarters or crush them and parcel out even amounts of
powder?

I believe what they're trying to convey is to not place it in a hot, humid
environment. I also recommend you keep it in the dark. I have a lot of C
from the Chinese Connection and I placed the bulk of it in a pill bottle,
along with one of those "moisture absorbing" things. Then placed that in a
Foodsaver vacuum bag that pulls most the air out. Then placed it in a dark
drawer. A refrigerator is probably best.

Well, wait a week or two and I'll pull a couple of frozen pills out and test
them.

Re: Cutting.
Walmart has a $4.00 pill cutter that works wonders. It cuts clean and leaves
no crumbs. The brand name is "Apex".

I sometimes take 1/4 and sometimes one half. Depends on how I feel, but more
so on what kind of mood my wife is in at the time..........

First test:
Abstinence and no pills for three days (Ugh!)

Opened pulled out two pills from the frozen stash. I held the bottle in the
freezer to avoid warm air hitting ith, and promptly closed the bottle. Efforts
to prevent warm moist air from hitting the pills failed and they apparently
frosted enough to stick together. When I separated them, I dropped one pill
and it rolled under the refrigerator. When I quit cussing, I fished it out.
Cut one pill and took half last night. It worked just like normal.

I'll keep the other pill and a half in an unsealed container, like I keep my
working stash (1 to 3 week supply). I'll test them later and only report if
they seem to have been damaged.

Conclusion. What common sense told me. Allow the sealed frozen bottle to come
to room temperature before opening it. I just forgot to do that and did not
wish to delay the test any longer.
