|

| help me 2004-11-16, 4:13 pm |
| I am 27 years old and having ED problem since may 2004.Initially i
contacted urologist and he told i have high blood pressure and that
may be reason for ED.I then contacted internal medicine doctor and he
did blood test.He told i also have hypothyroidism and presrcibed
relevent medication for high blood pressure and hyperthyroidismThis
month he told my test results are good and referred me to consult
urologist.
I visited the urologist and he suggested me to take viagra.I don't
want to try it as it will not cure ED but gives erections whenever you
take viagra. So he asked me to take Penile Doppler Test.
I just want to know if there will be any side effects after taking
that test and will the test be able to determine my problem.
Please help me.
Thanks

| One thing is confusing. You mention both HYPOthyroidism and HYPERthyroidism.
Hypo is too little thyroid hormone and hyper is too much. Either condition can
be very serious, but the good news is that both are quite treatable.
Thyroid problems can cause blood pressure problems and ED problems and many
other very bad things as well. Be sure to get it treated or it can ruin your
health. Once it is under control, hopefully your ED problems will disappear.
In the meantime, I suggest you try the viagra. You will not get an erection
without sexual stimulation, so don't worry about that. It is not addictive,
although once you have tried it you might decide you really like it. During
sex, it will make you harder and make you last a lot longer than without it,
and that can be very nice.
I don't think there are any side effects from the Doppler test, but it is
probably a waste of time. If they find anything, they can't do anything about
it except prescribe viagra. Better to treat the thyroid and blood pressure
problems first and see if that doesn't fix the ED problem.

| The Dopler test is very simple. You are given an injection that makes you
either erect or partially erect. Harmless. While the erection is occuring
all they do is read the blood flow in and the blood flow out using a
sonogram device. If there are areas of venous leakage, these can be pretty
accurately pinpointed.
Although surgery is the usual suggestion for severe venous leakage, you can
live very well with just some leakage; there are drugs which overcome it.
Vacuum pumping can go a long way toward making ateries healthier, thus
overcoming the leakage through veins. Viagra and Cialis usually overcome it
temporarily; a cock ring will usually work, too.

| no! it will not determine your problem. It will let you know if your penis is
sensitive, or whether your problem can be cured. However you will have to find a
solution to your problem.

| Hi,
You need to understand what is wrong.
If your blood supply to the penis is due to leakage, I think the doppler
test will find it but not cure it.
Some times bike seats cause the problem.
Age related nerve changes usually creep in gradually and viagra and such can
help. After they no longer work, injection therapy will still give you good
firm erections that last several hours.
You can't make it new again.

| Hi All,
Thank You All for your replies.
StephenM 96 I have hypothyroidism.
At first when i consulted the doctor my TSH was 4.7(UIU/ML).He
presribed synthroid. My latest TSH is <0.1.So Doctor reduced my
synthroid concentration.
I monitor my blood pressure in the morning before taking medicine. It
is usually around 135(sys)/85(dias).After taking licinopril(for blood
pressure) my BP is around 110/65.
Do you think my 135/85 may cause ED.
In some websites i have read that blood pressure medications may also
cause erection problems. Is that true???(Though my ED problem started
before taking medication).
Currently i have some more time to think about Doppler test before i
can schedule the appointment.
Once again Thank You All.

| You may wish to talk to your doctor about taking Armour Thryoid, a
natural hormone, rather than the synthetic Synthroid which does not have
all of the necessary factors.

| Hi,
Rather than the thyroid medication causing the ED it is more apt to be the
blood pressure medication.
Cholesterole medications are not supposed to cause ED but I felt it may have
caused me those problems just when ED things were getting to be noticeable.
Anti-anxiety and anti-depression pills are also offenders but don't know
which are the worst.
