I can help with part of the question:
Viagra is fairly fast and packs the best initial whallop, but with a
narrower window of opportunity, usually about 6 hours.
Cialis works more "naturally." You take it. It sets to work in an hour or
less with best resutls later. It lasts 36 hrs or more. You need more
manual or mental stimulation with C than with V but if C works for you, once
you are up, you are up so long as stimulation is happening.
Levitra causes terrible gastric upset in me, but then I have acid reflux.
It does work much like Viagra from an erection point of view.

| Hi,
Another candidate should be the injectible which wrok for diabetics and
those with nerve damage. I prefer trimix which is available only from a
compounding pharmacy with a prescription from the urologist tha teaches you
how to inject yourself.
Works great for 2 1/2 to 4 hors depending on how much you use and the
erection is very firm to the point of being tender if you went for the 4
hour injection.

From what I have read from others, the side effects of Cialis also
lasts 36 hours. Some men experience leg pain. In my case the Cialis
does nothing, so at least I have not suffered any side effects. The
Viagra does not work at all as far as the erection goes, but it gives
me a stuffy nose, and if I take more than the 100 mg. I experience the
"blue haze" that they talk about. Not really a problem, but if a
person was not familiar with the side effect they could be frightened
by that. I find it unsettling. My uro told me that Levitra works the
same way as Viagra, so there was no point in trying it, so to date I
have not.
For whatever it is worth, I also tried MUSE and Caverject. I am
apparently allergic to the drug those products use, "prostagline", or
something like that. It did not produce a normal erection and it was
painful. No chance of enjoying intercourse with that pain. I am
currently trying to learn how to use a Rejoyn pump. So far no success
there.
Good luck to you. BTW, I am a 1 year + post RRP patient.
Thank you.

| Hi,
There is a good possibility that trimix would work just fine for you.
I tried something that was a topical ointment containing prostagline that
was rubbed on the penis. I caused a very soft erection and later on the way
home my eyes began to burn severely. This lasted about 4 hours and was
really bad.
I was participating in this study after being on trimix for many years. In
that low dosage injected into the penis I had no itching or problem. My dose
is .1 cc and it lasts for several hours.
My mixture is #5 or what is called 30:1:10
Papaverine 30 mg/ml
Phentolamine 1 mg/ml
Prostaglandine E 10mcg/ml (notice the change in units)
If you do the math, the amount of PGE per injection is very very small by
comparison to caverject for instance.
I'd recommend you chase down that therapy for a sample injection as it is
fantastic what happens.Very firm and lasts hours.

| Experiences with success and side effects vary. For me the cialis
gives me a stuffy nose for about 4 hrs after I take it then I don't
have any more side effects. My use of it has been uneven though and
I'm not sure what will happen if I start using it regurarly such as
every other day
viagra also gave me a stuffy nose and a headache.
Levitra gives me the worst stuffy nose.
Success varys with each of these depending on other conditions in my
experience.

Can I ask about the long lasting erection? Is there discomfort after
being erect that long and do you have any difficulty urinating while
the penis is still erect? I have my next visit with the uro for a
PSA next Monday, so I will ask about the trimix.
Thank you.

| Hi,
I was encouraged to vary the amount by 10% to see what amount I preferred.
It is easy to have an unreliable injection with a flacid penis. Best way is
to tease the penis to get some blood in the cavity and squeeze it toward the
head and hold it. This enlarges the diameter at the injection site and you
then bury the needle all the way and unload the syringe. No problem being in
the cavity this way.
I drain my bladder before injecting.
The fullness is stimulating and part of the stimulation needed for
ejaculation I think. Makes me happy anyway. When I inject enough that it is
very firm till 4 hours, yes it does get very full and firm. After it gets to
about 3 or more hours it becomes tender and touching is not enjoyable. You
probably will choose to inject enough to keep it firm only 3 hours which
seems just about right for a very leisurely time together.
My uro felt very firmly he was saving his patients from destruction of their
penis by not offering injection therapy. That was 10 years aago and while he
still says that, he is rather upset he can't find the scarring he was told
would happen if injection therapy was used.
I mentioned a compounding pharmacy in NY that he said was necessary for any
NY uro to prescribe it. I was surprised at his interest in getting the
phone number and wondered if perhaps it might be for himself.
Started to mention you can not easily get a uro to change his types of
therapy as it requires some training before patients should be injecting
themselves.
