Author Nurses on the take or Consultants------ Bard CR and the way they market????

I have run across a marketing practice that appears to be ilegal let
alone unethical. Bard CR seems to be selling their PICC products to
nurses with the understanding that if they buy the product, they can
also consult for Bard. If you are a nurse or doctor and you are also
paid by a medical company how can you make an objective decision about
which product to use? This appears to be a blatant conflict of
interests. Also, how can you "consult" for Bard if your hospital does
not use their product? The first question would be, "If the Bard
product is so good, then why don't you and your hospital use it"? Thus,
the so-called consultant is either going to use the Bard product or
probably not have a job with them. How can the patient's needs come
first when a nurse or doctor has a monetary self interest in promoting
a certain medical devise? I think the Justice department and or the FDA
needs to get involved in this gross violation of ethics if not the law.
