| I knew courts would dismiss charges if a defendant died before the
verdict, but never heard of it after a guilty verdict was issued. And
because he didn't have the opportunity to go through his appeals. Give
me a break! Money and friends in high places talked.
Mrs. Lay is due to start collecting her $900,000 retirement in 2007.
Most of their assets were hidden in things that protected them from
bankruptcy.
