No, it is not a reason for that. I use Google News Alerts on thimerosal,
measles, mumps, pertussis, etc. and have been reading the news from
England where Wakefield did his evil. The uptake of vaccines dropped,
and the incidence of disease increased.

And, Rich said, and I agree, that that in the overall scheme of things,
the profit made by the pharmaceuticals on vaccines is so relatively
small in comparison to their overall financial picture, that no comapny
would risk marketing an ineffective AND unsafe product.
I personally have no doubt that there are those companies that compare
risk and cost and then proceed to market something that is of
questionable safety.
Vaccines are NOT in that category.
