The problem is that you have not shown that what is in
the womb is the same thing as a person or something that
should be treated the same as a person, and you _do_ have
this burden of proof. You have it for two reasons:
First, because you wish to claim that a fertilized egg is a
person from the mythical moment of conception. The
problem you have is that the single celled zygote that you
would claim personhood for bears no resemblance to a person.
None. There is no way that a sane person could ever mistake
a zygote for a baby. Now, I don't say that this means it isn't
the same thing. What I say is that this night and day difference
means that YOU have the burden of proving that they are the
same or should be so treated.
Second, you have the burden of proof because it is you who
wishes to change the status quo. Abortion is legal now, as
it was before the mid 19th century. As purely a practical matter,
you have the burden of showing why the practice should be
outlawed.
