This book is an eye-opener (maybe a "mind-opener") because it seems
like Dr. Hadler, age 85, is revealing to the public is last, profound
testimony on the (mal?) practice of medicine. Kinda' a "death-bed"
confession for his profession, imho.
The purpose of Dr. Hadler's book is to educate patients and the public
with what he feels is "doable" by the health system (minor or
negligible health benefits largely to only 25% of population) and what
"can't be helped".
If Dr. Hadler is reading this, you have my deepest thanks for writing.
The language of this book is scholarly and aimed also at policy makers
as well as the average, thinking person.
"The Last Well Person" by Dr. Nortin M. Hadler, MD
