I know which of my neighbors are elderly, refrigerated medicine
dependent, or medical equipment dependent. So no they don't knock on my
door with and extension cord because I knock on theirs with one. Being
an electrician by craft I can convert a gas or oil heating plants supply
wiring to cord and plug in minutes. Each neighbor gets one cord and a
stern warning that I will not get up to reset their fifteen ampere
breaker at night. They can run the fridge and the heating plant one at
a time. Which and when is theirs to figure out unless they are totally
infirm in which case I run two cords and supply both. I even provided
the neighbor who is a minister with power to write her sermon by during
the outage that followed hurricane Isabelle. I figure that should
entitle me to at least a hook and a can for my trip into hell. If I
keep it up I'll be given full turnout gear, a compressed air foam system
hose line, and a list of misdirected souls. Once I get those souls back
to Saint Peter my purgatory sentence will have been served.
