| I'm a phlebotomist & understand that I could get involved with the
prison system a make some nice money as a contract phlebotomist going
into the prison system & draw blood for various
reasons....ie....DNA,drugs,or whatever reason.My question is,where do I
go to get started in this area of interest in the southern ca. area &
also does anybody know the myth or fiction of this type of work????

Hve you checked with the Department of Corrections?

He probably doesn't and neither do I.. But I can assure you.. if it
involves entry into any penal facility, the managing authority (usually
named Department of Corrections, or Criminal Justice or whatever) is
INTIMATELY involved, even if a contractor is doing the work.
Contact them. Inquire who has those contracts. Then contact the
contractor. Expect to have a complete background run. If you have family
on the inside of the walls ANYWHERE, expect to be denied. Unpaid parking
ticked? Denied. Anything unusual? Denied. If you can't get inside, you
can't work there.
I have worked as a per diem nurse inside of a correctional hospital but
not in your area.
