This is a little OT, but a search of google groups finds thts is about
the closest existing group for my question.
I find that my kitchen gas stove is located in brilliant direct
sunlight this time of year and the flame is invisible. I've found I've
left the simmer burner on low and not seen it intil the sun goes down.
ISTM that there should be a consumer device, placed on the ceiling
above the stove, that detects combustion products from a gas flame and
gives a polite chirp every couple minutes, as a reminder.
Aside from the obvious fire prevention aspects, it might prevent some
carbonized pans.
Does something like this exist ?
