Mayor: Lack Of Fine Arts Factor In School Fires

BALTIMORE -- Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley reportedly said at a
Cultural Town Meeting Monday night that the recent rash of fires at
city schools may have resulted in part from the lack of opportunities
for students to express themselves artistically.
The comment was reported by The (Baltimore) Sun.
At least 40 fires have been set this fall at 14 schools -- including
15 at Walbrook High. O'Malley said he met recently with the student
council at Walbrook and was told by students they had no art supplies
to boost school spirit for homecoming, and no resources to put on a
play.

| He forgot to mention the fact the parents failed to properly train there
children and take care of them. No art supplies
what do you need art supplies for with everything else out there children
have to do none of us ever had.
If they realy needed supplies im sure a local merchant would have proided as
well.
