| I am attempting to obtain references to authoritative Ayurvedic texts
(ancient or contemporary) to the herb known botanically as Coleus
forskholii, and in India known as Makandi or Karpushvali.
I am advised that historically it has been used as a treatment for
congestive heart failure and for ashtma, as well as for convulsions and
intestinal cramping. It has aroused attention in the west as a possible
treatment for hypertension, obesity, and hypothyroidism.
Any text references or citations anyone may provide will be most
gratefully appreciated!
Thank you, and Namaste!

Forskolin.
A search in Google gives _many_ pages, also this:

"The effects of Forskolin last for only a short period, and there are
concerns that use may lead to possible cardiovascular complications.
Forskolin would best be used under the supervision of a competent healthcare
professional trained in its use."

There is nothing that is constant except the fact that it is always
consistently inconsistent.
