That's not a juicer. That's an old high speed blender that was popular
in the 1970s. Today you can sometimes find one in a garage sale or on
Ebay for about $30. Today they call them smoothie machines. New Vitamix
blenders are about $400. An ordinary smoothie machine (about $50) is
about 10,000 rpm faster than an ordinary blender, a Vitamix blender is
about 20,000 rpm faster than an ordinary blende.
A vitamix blender will turn fruit and leafy greens into a real smooth
drink, frozen fruit into a shake. The advantage over a juicer is a
smoothie machine doesn't waste the fiber. A blender is also much easier
to clean up than a juicer.
The advantage of homemade over store bought V8 juice is V8 juice does
contain the enzymes which only are contained in fresh, uncooked foods.
The reason we don't hear about the importance of enzymes on the nightly
news is because virtually all the advertising money for the big networks
is in foods that can be owned which are only processed and cooked foods,
none of which contain enzymes.
With any high speed blender or juicer, nutritionalists agree that within
one hour it has lost HALF its nutrition, so it should be consumed
immediately.
