Hello hbkta,
Maybe it's a coincidence cuz I regularly listen to this CD called "The
sacred chants of Shiva" by singers from the Art of Living. The sanskrit
version that you mentioned is
track #4 on this CD. The album is one of the best ones I've heard for
meditation.
Here's the link on Amazon

Om Shanthi

Thanks Sharath,
I think I will be able to find that CD in town somewhere, the cover art
seems familiar, and have a listen.
I first heard the song about 25 years ago, not even knowing what the
song was or who was singing it,
a few lines stuck with me,
and yesterday I came across the words to the Atma Shatakam.
probably just my attatchments showing, but I am hoping to find that
version I heard years ago, since most modern chant productions seem
affectatious, comercial endevours
I am also searching for a version of the song by Sudha Malhotra
thanks again

Your welcome hbkta. I didn't have much idea about Sudha Malhotra, I
probably heard her songs on the radio but might have not known. I came
across a blog that mentioned that one can access her "Atma Shatakam"
song at the nearest Ramakrishna Mission OR Chinmaya Mission.
