| Hi Mark,
Your question is a very personal one... So, my answer will be another
personal...
Sidarta Gautama, that is Buddha did not give any answers to this type
of questions why? Because he wanted the owner of the question should
solve this.
In Buddhism when an ARHANT becomes fully enlightened they say that,
this ARHANT is released from birth and death cycle... NO REBIRTH
anymore...
This clearly indicates that,,, in reality there is no REBIRTH... to
realize one needs to be FULLY ENLIGHTENED.
In Buddhism again, there is NO-SOUL, that is ANATMA principle
works...If there is no soul,,, who is gonna be reborn ?
If I am asked to summarize all my sayings,,, I say that your answer
will depend on your way of thinking,,,
So you have to deem it by yourselve...And remember,,,all our beliefs
are second or multi-hand knowledge,,, therefore they can not indicate
the TRUTH,,,in order to reach the TRUTH, one needs to have first hand
knowledge...
First hand knowledge is your own experiments this is why they give a
great deal of value
to the experiments in schools...Other wise all the knowledge becomes
like stories...
With compassion,
Puma
