I would like to reply to Hbkt`s wondering poster: He states that;

""""Hi Jared,
being the cold, heartless bastard that I am, I could not help, when
reading your post, wondering,"so what happened to his idea that there
is nothing but God?" where did it go in all this? """"

Hi HBKT,

There is no need to wonder,,,if one thinks that even the son of God
can be killed easily,,,so why it cann`t be possible for God to be
unhappy???

So easy, and feasible with the idea of THERE IS NOTHING BUT GOD...All
our misunderstanding about God comes from religious conditionings...
God has no relation with religions at all...If we realize this simple
fact,,,then there happens to have no reason to wonder with the
situations we are facing...

Respectfully,

Puma

Howdy Puma!

If I may continue..

HBKT...

You have not opened yourself anywhere near
enough if you are thinking in terms of :

"nothing but God"

The concept of God is still a substrata.

Once you get past the personal concept of god,
you get to the Unity concept. (BTW: That's what
Yoga [capital "Y"] is all about -- "Unity.")

When you get to unity, you start thinking in terms
of "your pain is my pain is universal pain" before
you get to the non-dualistic concepts.

Howdy Puma!

As a fellow Jnani allow me to continue...

The concept of God is still a SUBSTRATA on
the Jnani path.

Once you get past the personal concept of god,
you get to the Unity (Nirguna Brahman) concept.

well i guess you had better take that up with Jared, he is the one who
regularily posts about such..

of course

I am really leary of any sort of personal concept of god, such a train
of thought seems to me to be just so much anthromorphizing.

my info tells me that that "concept" is more properly termed Saguna
Brahman. "nirguna" meaning beyond the gunas, unqualified, without
attributes, so no unity, no non unity.
Saguna meaning with qualities, within scope of the gunas.

yes, no dissent on that point, as far as it goes.

> When you get to Unity, you start thinking

from my own experience, I find that thinking gets in the way,
gets in the way of BEING.

> in terms
> of "your pain is my pain is universal pain"

that sort of "thinking" is still within the realm of Saguna Brahman,
within the confines of identification of Self with Saguna Brahman,
still having identification and hence bondage with various levels of
manifestation (you, me, universe).
While thinking in, and acting out of, such terms is to be applauded,
without a foundation of sadhana which manifests such thinking on a
concrete experiential level of Being, such thinking is just so much
artsy fartsy philisophical bullshit. There is big difference between
thinking "your pain is my pain is universal pain" and actually Being
and experiencing life on that level. Being and experiencing life at
that level necessarily means the experience is yours, and not someone
else's nor the universes. A sadhana which takes the mind, mind being
the organ of perception, to such a level also expands ones capacity to
experience the "pain" and does not leave one so fragile as to be
overwhelmed by it.
