Hi Stu,

Although your question is for Dave, but recently I have read someting
on this question of yours. It says that when there is no sense received
from the sense organs during sleep or meditation,manas can not get any
perceptions thru these senses... But this time manas gets all the
perceptions from the recorded memories at CHITTA...This is the cause
how we get all the perception within these circumstances.

I do not know if this small info has satisfies yourselve or not, just
its relation is interesting..
