| Hello,
I have just joined this list. I am a yoga teacher in London. I teach a
class in North London Buddhist Centre and I will be doing some
workshops on Chakras and Pranayama, Bandhas, and Mudras. I have been
looking for information on Brahma Mudra on the Internet but cannot find
a good source. Has anyone come accross a good text explaining what this
mudra means? I also would like to put this information on my web site.
I'd appreciate any comment on this.
Many thanks!
Hakan

| Welcome Hakan,
Brahma Mudra is used mostly during the practice of PRANAVA PRANAYAMA .
It helps to harmonize the flow of PRANA in the three sections of the
lungs.
HOW TO DO IT
_____________
Place the thumb onto the palm and close the fingers around it. Bring
the fists together, fingers pointing upwards, and place them on the
abdomen, just above the navel.
With compassion,
Puma

| It is part of the pranayama practices by Gitananda [you might find
references on the net.]
The hands are placed at the base of the sternum, when doing the
complete yoga breath.
