Howdy Tia!

As I see it there are basically 2 alternatives:

1. Confront your fear and defeat it.

2. Walk away from your fear.
(Either avoid the issue or use the "whistle a happy tune" technique
from "The Sound of Music".)

If a person is going to use the first method they must have the
cognizant ability to face the issue, analyze it, analyze their reaction
to it and overcome their psycho-physiological reaction. This may be
asking a bit much for a child.
