What Puma wrote about Mindfullness and concentration is the theory or
the text how to make meditation, but it is not say how to start
practition. There are about 40 of Buddhism meditation techniques
existing. All of these existing is purposed for Mindfullness and
concentration. There is one latest rediscovery by Luang Poo Sod
Chandhasaro ( Phra Mongkol Dhepmuni of Wat Paknam Pasicharoen, Bangkok,
Thailand) he rediscover the Dhammakaya Meditatation Technique which
which is the same technique Lord Buddha made himself enlightenment and
taught his disciples 2,500 years ago. It is simple but not easy, any
how any one can practice with out any religious confliction. The result
of Dhammakaya Meditation is not only for concentration but for wisdom
and peace happiest mind. Now millions Dhammakaya disciples keep
practice Dhammakaya worldwide. There are many branches of Dhammakaya
meditatation retreat center available in the world, 8 in USA. It is
long to say about Dhammakaya. Interested meditators may visit the

Hi Anon,

Our friend Sirgerry is very alert,,,one can see this from his
question,,,So trying to tell him do this and to do that, shows our
sleepy state in a clear way...What he is asking is above our
awareness,,,
lets be carefull and aware what he is showing to us!!!

With compassion,

Hi

Thanks all for your compassionate replies, I love this group.

I used to think that I had to be meditating 24/7 and used to get into
amicable discussions with a good friend about achieving this state of
pece and calmness. I told him I felt the need to run to the mountain
and live like a hermit, no more traffic jams, no more violence, no more
stress. He used to tell me that those are the things I need in order to
achieve internal peace, that facing them and not getting hooked on them
is my lesson, which used to make no sense to me.

As I been practicing Asanas and medtitating, I can see more clearly
what he meant. Of course, now and then, I feel the need to run to the
mountain

Thanks again for your opinions, mean a lot to me.

Namaste

Anon,

You are a beautiful person. And I am glad to have you here . And,
please kindly note that
if we have the same MIND, or are within the same MIND, is there any
need to read it?
However, we all have to be alert...That is our task ...

With compassion,

Puma

Howdy Puma!

Just for the sake of raising a ruckus...

Is "being alert" a TASK or is it an ATTRIBUTE
(albeit a temporary one?)

hello there,

Here are some great lectures/meditations:

dhammatalks.org

Apart from content, they're a good concentration exercise - they're
spoken quite slowly, which sometimes makes it difficult to stay aware
(at least for me).

Howdy Dave,

As always you`ve made your point... Vipassana has two tasks one is
mindfulness the other is concentration,,,I take here BEING ALERT as
mindfulness,,, so this is my reply...

puma ji,
i'm just trying to be helpful. when i said "be alert", it did not mean "you
are not alert, therefore be alert". if someone thinks that way, it is
convoluted thinking. as i get older, my mind can only think simple and
straightforward things.
